No, don't give up as they obviously need further education. I know I have 'Barnsley' tastes, but only yesterday I enjoyed a hot pork pie from Drake and Macefield butchers in Skipton -the food (well, pork pie) capital of the Dales.
I miss Albert - he once shared a video with me of him being interviewed (could have been calendar or Look North) .He was stirring the blood clots out of his black pudding mixture cos he reckoned it was the only way to mix it properly to get your arm in up to the shoulder!
Used to love calling into Hector Ellis when passing through Bretton and devouring a couple of freshly cooked porkers! Incidentally; every Cockney I've met thinks we're heathens cos we have gravy with chips. Lol
The best pork pie to temp them with is Mcquillans at Royston. Percy Turners pie does not come near in taste.
Speedys of Monk Bretton pork pies are that good I frequently export them to mates in Wakefield, they beat Hoffman's hands down. They're that good , brown sauce spoils them .
This is much more fun than discussing football. Can't them as wants to cover football and stadiums and boards and the like create their own forum? Oh don't forget Head Coaches/managers.
Vive le difference - all mentioned have great merit. I’ve made it my life’s work to sAmple as many as possible (fat bast…d alert).
Had Ellis's and Turners and both are very good, but best I ever tasted were Walkers on The Wells in Royston . When you bit into em it actually looked like pork and not red like bacon like Hirsts .
