Herbie Kane set to leave Liverpool possibly on a permanent deal
Still only 21. Been hampered with Injurys but from when I've seen him he looks a very decent player.
Gerrard once said he was best CM to be coming through Liverpool ranks
Would love us to try and get him

Struggled on loan at Hull last year didn’t he? Didn’t do anything of note.

Did well with Donny under McCann the previous season, wouldn’t surprise me if he went back to Hull in League 1.

A few would go bananas if we brought him in. I think he’d prefer to go to Monte Carlo though.

Has always impressed me when i have seen him play - a bit of a Brian Howard. I would have thought that he would slot in best as a number ten, but anywhere as an attacking midfielder. He did score a sublime free kick for Hull City in a televised game last season against Middlesbrough. I would have him, but not before we have secured a striker, or two first.

Whiteman to us on a permanent deal and Kane back to Donny on another loan.

I'd be happy with both whiteman and Kane. A couple of injuries in that department and we are threadbare. Palmer has shown potential, but we have no idea if he is up to the standard of championship football.

This is definitely an area we need serious improvement on.

    Last seasons goal stats.

An alternative suggestion for midfield - and this is pure speculation - is Lewis Ferguson from Aberdeen. As stated, it's pure speculation based on information that we're after a Scottish based player (from Tykes Talk) and that he was withdrawn from the U21 Scotland game on Tuesday for no reason. He fits our model and he would definitely give us more physicality in midfield though I don't think Aberdeen are under any pressure to sell since they've just sold Scott McKenna to Forest for a tidy sum.

Here's an idea. We let Donny know that we are dead keen on Kane and they get all upset about it because they want him.

We say "Ok, we'll step aside - you can have him". Then we steam in and make them offers they can't refuse for Whiteman and Moore.

    Easy :)
