They did, but forest fans really rate Gardner. He’s played a lot of football there. I thought he was poor yesterday mind

Yes, Ok. Potts .... lose some weight. He may be all.muscle but he' struggling to move the weight he carries around a pitch for 90 minutes.
Moncur .. get back to basics. Move to the ball, expecting it to come to you is schoolboy stuff. Get your body in.
Gardner ... Look around before taking two yard passes. Stop missing opportunities to get theball in the box. Practise passing over 10 yards because the rate of inaccurate passing was alarming.

Gardner’s not fit, all our other players who’ve come back from injury have had games in the under 23’s to build fitness because we’ve had decent players in the positions they play in the first team so there was no reason to throw them straight in the team.

With Gardner he’s been thrown straight in which tells you all you need to know about how poor the other central midfielders have been (apart from Williams).

Potts can’t trap a ball, his passing is poor & I can’t work out how he scored so many goals in league 2 because he seems to panic every time he gets near goal but he’s getting a place in the team just because he’s a good athlete which has given him the edge over Moncur & McGeehan who are better on the ball but are nowhere near as fit

Disagree to some extent on Moncur, he offers a lot of creativity but yeah, when you're not in the game (like yesterday) he's just a passenger.

It remains to be seen if fitness will make Gardner more useful. He looks like the archetypal modern midfielder on the brief glimpse so far
