After the Ipswich Town game on the first day of the season, my evaluation (on this forum) was that Potts didn't have a bad game...he didn't have a good game either, he was just kind of 'meh'. He doesn't affect games. He doesn't strike me as a player that is going to get fired up when things aren't going our way (against Leeds on Saturday, he looked like he had just given up altogether, which made the decision to remove Hammill all the more baffling). He just doesn't do enough to justify being selected week in, week out. I can't even decide what his best position is - he's doesn't appear to be quick, strong or remotely skillful - I can't put my finger on him, or what he genuinely contributes to the team.

In League Two (and League One) to some extent - you can get away with drifting through a game and making lazy mistakes and decisions, but at this level, you get found out, very easily. I'm not pointing the finger at him solely, but he seems to be a passenger in most games, and that simply cannot continue.

    He’s my favourite laiker.

    I'd take Fellaini too

There is no accounting for taste. A fundamentally limited laiker only saved by the fact that he does seem to work hard.

Ine thing hes improved on beyond all recognition is the number of rimes ge gets in his team mates way. He must have cut it down to double figure s per game now

I actually watched him against Leeds more closely after you'd pointed this out and I still didn't see it.

I like him, one of our better recruits.

A great player? Are you having me on or what? Can barely control a ball, struggles to pass to a team mate yards away, lumbers around the pitch, painfully slow physically and mentally.

He's got an unorthodox running style but that doesn't make him slow. He's had a poor couple of games I grant you, but before that he was great.

Define great. Has he set anything up? Has he stopped anything? I tell you what, if we manage to sell him for a profit, Hecky ought to be knighted.

He is slow. He's a lumbering. Physically and mentally.

To be fair I think he only did once or twice

The mist noticeable occasion was in the first half when he ran pararall To the h lf way line perfectly blocking williams chance to ping the ball wide to Barnes

That's a bit harsh. The mental bit I mean.

Hecky always picks him. Does that not tell you anything?

He’s set a few up. The tackle, then powering away from his man before slipping it to Isgrove at Burton most recently.

Under-appreciated the work he gets through.

I don’t want him on the wing, mind.
