Racism alive and well in West Stand on Saturday

Just as Kay was getting treatment in the second half, this grunt on the 1st row of the west stand runs over and leans past the reds dug-out to shout over to the Cardiff bench. I have never been so dismayed at what i heard. He shouted "Sam, Sam! Thank god for Israel sam, BOOM!!" as he imitated a bomb going off.

The cardiff players quiet rightly had a few words (but nobody from our bench which i found astonishing as his head was more or less in there). The forth official then informed the steward on the old tunnel, who did absolutely nothing, wasn't interested.

Is racism not supposed to be kicked out of football?? IS it the thinking at Oakwell that racism can only be towards black players?? This spoilt the rest of the match a bit for me. A bloody disgrace and i will be making this ineptitude known to the club.

Wouldn't call it rascism. It was a stupid remark, yes, but not rascism.

Also when there number 2 got booked for foul on MacIndoe, allot of 'monkey noises could be heard in the Ponty end.

Didnt help himself after the game though by winding up the crowd

    Big time

The steward heard it, everyone near the dugouts heard it and apart from 3 or 4 sheep everyone was dismayed. It would surprise me if it didn;t end up in the match report to the FA.

I do reckon that the monkeys who do the stewarding only think racism can be towards black people. This was a bit to complex for them

    He's Lebanese.

The thing about Israel was bang out of order. It's not as if there isn't plenty of other stuff to throw at Skankin' Sam, he's a right scumbag.

    RE: Big time

If that's true, and I've no reason to doubt it is, then that's way out of order.

Someone further up this thread tries to condone it with the arguement that "Lebanese" is not a race. Not being funny mate, but you need to take a long hard look at what you've written and if you can't see that the abuse from this numbskull is not offensive and racist, then i feel very, very sorry for you.

At the very least the clown who thought it big and clever to shout this garbage should be charged with "using words or behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace".

and thats what it says in my letter to the club, FA and police. What pissed me off the most was the stewards inaction. Never even bothered, and lso a few lettuce washers who tried to support the blokes comments.

I was so pissed off and embarrassed after what the idiot said

    Get a grip fool!!

If you wanna have a go, do it at the moron who made the comments. I ain't gonna let comments like that go. The club had the chance to deal with it and never did.

we were already warned about this, (bradford)

    points deduction now?

Would have thought an "internal" would be better to start with, without potentially buggering up an already difficult season with action from the FA

    (clap) (sarcastic)
