RE: I'm not so sure ES. a racial group can be defined by reference to nationality amongst other things. Jews/Sikhs/Gypsies and Scots are all racial groups according to UK law.
you mean... First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a communist; Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a socialist; Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist; Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— because I was not a Jew; Then they came for me— and there was no one left to speak out. ------------------- there are enough racism do gooders and PC brigade people out there without expecting everyone to join in. Like I said, why speak out at something that hasn't personally offended me. or are you just trying to make a point about something thinking I wouldn't know what you were on about.
Racism in football To my mind making a racist comment is really when someone says that another is biologically inferior to you based on genetic factors. I think other definitions are a bit woolly and come down to name calling. If I hear an insult like 'you black b*stard' at a football match, it's offensive, but to me the same as being called a 'Northern b*stard' or an 'old b*stard'. Like at the Brentford game (away) . The Brentford supporters started singing to Barnsley: 'You dirty Northern b*stards'. Which made me think if the word 'Northern' had been replaced by 'black' then all hell would have broken loose. Yet a certain loosely defined group of people are being targetted in either instance - what's the difference?
RE: umm... and so you were..... soz mate, case of "if I opened my eyes"..... completely got the wrong end of that one....(seestars)
NONE. I suppose its what context its used in. Personally, I find being called a dingle offensive. So I am going to report everyone who calls a BFC Fan a dingle. So there Before anyone starts, its a joke! FFS
After reading your posts ive decided that you are more intent on making people see how upset you are and dragging the club down a peg or two thus boosting your own ego than you are at actually solving the problem of one person making a racist comment. From what you ahve posted today, the person who made the comment was told he was out o order by a steward then refrained from making another such comment. If you were that upset about it you could have done either or both the following options: Informed the steward his remark offended you and ask to see his supervisor to take the matter further there and then Spoke to a member of the police force. As you didnt do either of them it seems you ar eonly happy hearing your voice braodcast on a public forum.
And also you have named a seat number your posts and letter. What would happen if the person who sat at that seat saw this post and didnt commit the offence?
or... some old dear sits their the next game and gets a massive bout of abuse from the against racism gang... I can picture it now ff
'the against racism gang'? what does that mean, that you are not against racism? or is the 'it doesn't bother me' attitude.
******. not arguing on that again. you lot are all the same aren't ya... twist things, try to get people going, to argue YOUR point, to try and brainwaish others into what you want to hear. tough
