Well you bloody tw@ts taking the pee. For once I did have a reason to ask. I always pull the handle down because I figured that it reduces wear on the latch and prevents the handle from coming a loose over time but I was told recently by a handle manufacturer (don't ask) that you are only supposed to turn the handle when opening the door and shouldn't turn it when you close it. So come on people am I the weirdo here? Don't answer that
Doesn't this depend on the door? On the front door of my parent's house you need to pull the door shut with the handle down otherwise it doesn't shut and then you need to immediately push the handle back up again or it'll come back open. On most classroom doors if you just pull them they gently click closed, no handle turning needed.
