Very disappointed in the linesman- awful decision to allow their first to stand - he was very clearly offside
I’d have been happy with a draw beforehand and on the balance of play probably a fair result but still disappointing. Palmer was excellent though a real gem. The lack of options on the bench is very concerning we have gone from being able to make 5 subs without weakening the team to weakening if we make 1 change. Still hopefully we should have more bodies by the international break.
It’s not just about substitutions, it’s about how he sent them out for the second half generally. The changes might have been forced upon him somewhat and the goals came after that, but it isn’t like the first twenty minutes of the second half wasn’t much the same pattern.
Proper tale of two halves that one. Disappointed that we threw it away so late on. We lacked depth today, which seems an odd statement given the size of the squad. Moon and Halme are capable of doing a job in the middle of the park, but not together. As soon as Benson went off we lost any bit of control that we had in the middle and it invited them onto us. The front three looked spent and Cole came onto the pitch already looking knackered. I appreciate we still have Kane to come back, along with the two new forwards which will make a big difference to our options, but I hope we're still looking for another left-wing back and/or another centre midfielder. Great performance first-half though. Easily the best of the season so far. We should've capitalised on our dominance a bit more in hindsight. The front three were linking up well and playing some neat football in the final third. Styles looked back to his old self. Kitching looks comfortable already at this level, and Benson looks like a proper player. Roll on Birmingham.
We had the chances to win it though, could have been 3-0 or 3-2 at the end. It is disappointing but also encouraging the way we played.
i said we need to keep first 15 mins tight. We did that. We broke up play and protected the channel either side. Last 20 we tucked in as we had 2 squares in round holes in midfield. Both flanks were then easier options.
i agree with almost everything but i felt kitching had a poor game. 3 times he had control of ball wide and he turned it into 2 corners and a free kick for QPR. One of those games as i think he is better than that.
Also don't want to scapegoat cole. Maybe his confidence aint their but with a tired qpr defence leaving gaps. You would think he get the ball and run at them and run at them to close them down with his apparent pace he's got.
A lot of positives to take from the first half. Second half we looked leggy. One or two additions, and everybody else up to full speed and we'll be on our way.
More than happy with that result not gonna lie, first half wowed me, I’m optimistic for what’s to come
I’ve only played centre mid once and ran out of steam after 10 mins. I fit the spreadsheet but would have to lie about my age. Cant help but think what we would have done if we had an experienced or actual centre mid option last 15. Having said that squandering 3, 2 on 1’s is inexcusable
They only had one more shot than us.. 13-12 according to the BBC. We had more corners 9-6, but the foul count was 15 - 3 against us.
F**k me - went back to tidying the garage seeing as we’d done well with me not listening/watching and come back to 2-2 with an injury time equaliser
I used to feel like that but there's far worse things in life, disappointed yes but we got a point away to a team who are scoring goals for fun.
Good point, there werent many who thought we'd get that against a form team frm end of last season and beginning of this, its always gutting to concede in injury time but weve more points now than we had this time last year and look where we ended up.we just need to keep improving and if we can put 5 or 6 wins together at some stage in the season we'll be right up there.chin up everyone, first half should give us optimism an if we beat the brummies on tuesday am sure we'll be play off contenders again.
