Brilliant recap very emotional got goosbumps when the winner went in, only thing that took my eye was woodrows embrace with struber not much emotion from woodrows which to me looks like he will be gone, and the funny part was luke Thomas drinking red bull in tunnel am sure that's not in nutritioalist bible for pre match drink, that's why he only gives 70 mins is wings have run out
A brilliant recap which captured the enormity and the emotions of the night wonderfully well. My YouTube feed then went straight to the recap video from the Fulham game on the 1st day of the season. That was a really good watch too to contrast to what has changed between then and now and also what has largely stayed the same. e.g. we were all loving Wilks for his time wasting clapping the crowd antics that afternoon and I guess we wouldn't have imagined then that his particular signing wouldn't work out. However there was also a brilliant clearance from Mads Anderson which I had forgot about from that game and he punched the air triumphantly in celebration. For that player we know we got a happy ending and he provides such an infectious approach to his football. What both the first and last games truly captured though was that amazing Barnsley spirit to overcome the odds against top level opponents with both skill and sheer desire. The atmosphere was simply brilliant at Oakwell that sunny August afternoon and I know we all experienced are our own fantastic atmospheres from home on Wednesday night too. What happened in-between those two games as of course been tough both on and off the field and for non-football reasons as well. If you look at the two games though they really were fantastic achievements to top and tail the season with. Roll on the 12th September and we can do all it over again. What we have shown throughout the season and the pandemic in general is that we really do have such a special club in this little town of ours....
I've just watched this again. If anything, it's even more emotional, as I've noticed more of the comments and actions going off in the background. I, for one, am overjoyed that my prediction of relegation was proven to be totally wrong. As stated previously in other threads, the only time I was as convinced we'd be relegated was in the 2008/09 campaign. So my relegation predictions have proved to be 100% incorrect! My footballing knowledge can only get better! Once again, a huge THANK YOU to Andy & his colleagues for this brilliant production and to Gerhard, his coaching & backroom staff and this bunch of players for showing such passion and commitment for the club's cause. WARRIORS.
Yes, it's part of the emotion. We were all saying the same things at the same time, weren't we? Well, I was anyway.
