...this morning with BetVictor. I still fancy us, despite recent results, but I cannot imagine anyone at all backing us at those odds. 4/5 to make top 2 and a perhaps even more surprising 1/10 to finish in the top 6.

It seems the bookies really rate us. William Hills odds for today are Fleetwood 11/4 and Barnsley 19/20. This despite Fleetwood only being 3 places below us and 3 of our 4 victories coming against the current bottom 4.

In the football league, in my opinion anyway, pretty much any team can beat anyone such as the unpredictability of the leagues. Which is why all this about our wins coming against teams at the bottom doesn’t hold too much value for me.

If we are comparing wins this season then Fleetwood’s 3 wins have come against Bradford, Oxford and Scunthorpe but they drew 2-2 with Rochdale at home whereas we hammered them away. Swings and roundabouts most of the time.

I do agree that the odds are rubbish though, I wouldn’t be backing that but maybe they know something we don’t.

The odds are about what people think and gamble on. They won't fairly reflect the actual chances.

The bookies rate us but so do the punters. The odds reflect how much money we’ve attracted so far - we are fancied by most of the league one following supporters. Even Coventry rated us, when they beat us and we were pretty poor on the night.

They were similar when their paper coupon was produced earlier in the week. I doubt they will have taken many bets at that stage.
