Because it's a business, just like my company who have furloughed half of our staff yet turnover 20 times more than BFC a year.

Agree redstone. But I believe their is a significant difference in players and non playing staff. In the fact that the wages of players have to be guaranteed I believe. ( unless agreeing as in this case to a change in contract) I hark back to when we went into administration. The new owners had to honour the contracts and wages of the playing staff. Mike Sheron I believe on £10k pw at the time. Redundancy would be able to be introduced. Except for the fact it’s not a person that becomes redundant but the job. The person is the consequence. So you could not employ someone in his/her role. If that makes any sense. Players have it all covered via the rules set up by the FL and PFA
So in reality furloughing players. Would be in the realms of possibility. The club having to guarantee the rest of the wages. A saving of £2.5k per month per player. I will expect to be put right on some issues as I always say. I’m no expert, But that’s how I personally see it.

If I were a player these thoughts would be forefront:
    a) I have a contract the club should honour it, providing they can afford it and not place the club in jeopardy
    b) Any reduction in wages should be on a percentage basis and should be the same percentage for all players both at this clubs and other clubs in this league
    c) Any savings in wages should be made available to the non-playing staff to ensure that any furloughed staff (particularly those at min wage level or just above) are not disadvantaged in terms of losing their wage, thereby endearing themselves to other employed staff and more importantly the fans.

Not really sure what us having the lowest wages really makes a difference. We will have a much lower income compared to most clubs in the league. Our owners might be wealthy but the football club isn’t.
