I still don't do many home games Conan, l went against Burton and the whole experience is *****, the grounds a **** hole, the atmosphere is *****, the West Stand is well - have we really still got that in 2018? Pre-match drinking options are *****. Go to most away games and its 10 times better, even for the home fans. I'm no different to any football fan Conan. We've no patience but football's changing more American owners are coming into the game, they have bigger and better ideas than the English owners on how to run things off the field and build the club as a business. That's now what football is, a business whether we like it or not. In America teams sacrifice a couple of **** seasons to prosper for years. We live in hope.
Oh dear oh dear - not much right at the WELL then ??? What comes first chicken or egg ??? What comes first winning attractive football matches or a good atmosphere??? For the last FOURTEEN years Barnsley Football Club has been treading water. Bouncing about at the bottom of the Championship or in the pub league otherwise known as League 1. Hopefully this might change in the next 2 to 4 seasons. I think it is going to take that long to turn things around. Barnsley fans always live in hope.
It’ll take at least 50-60 million spending on quality to even think we will be challenging near the top of the championship anytime soon I’m afraid. The road we’ve been on is pure folly and fantasy and there’s no mileage in it at all for me.
We don't have to spend anything like that. The likes of Blackpool and Burnley didn't to get there in the past ten years (Burnley more than once). We need to build a team and when contracts come up get them renewed instead of breaking up a successful team whenever it is we are lucky enough to have one again.
Looking at his time at other clubs I'd be surprised if Jose stays at Bfc longer than his contract. If the summer proves to be a changing point for BFC and we do obtain quality players to built a strong and successful club then bring it on. But I can't see it nomatter what league we are in. I hope I am wrong. I hope we survive this season, then move onwards and but I am not hopeful if the last 50 years (which is when I started going to Oakwell) is owt to go on. I truly hope I am wrong.
I’ve seen nothing to suggest we’re any better keeping JM than appointing any of the constant merry go round of managers who interchange clubs at high frequency. In fact we’d possibly be better off with one of the usual suspects as for me he’s displayed no knowledge of the league or ability as a manager whatsoever as yet. Not his squad no, but it’s a better one than we had for the most part of this season before he came and if owt we are getting worse under him despite having a genuine goal threat. He’ll get and deserves time, but I don’t think he will stay if we go down. The club may want him to, I think he’ll walk regardless.
You don't know if any of that to be true.. You have no idea what the boards intentions are because they haven't stated any. Apart from them being here long term.
Morais has got a fantastic CV - so we can’t blame the owners for signing him. So it’s come as a huge surprise that he can’t get the most out of the team. He may be good at coaching and improving individual players - but on recent evidence he doesn’t know how to put a team together- he doesn’t know how to MANAGE a team. So no - I’m not expecting Morais to be here long - these owners will drop him like a hot potato.
Which bit of his CV is fantastic ? Please don't say the bit where is was just a coach under Mourinho .
He could be here long term. Not sure about 4 years though - that's a rare thing these days. Much depends on next season, regardless of where we are. If he brings about an improvement in this league, or a promotion push from league one, he'll be deemed suitable for the job. If not he'll join the long list.
A season, at the very least, back in league one will feel long term. I really don't want to go back there.
You seem to be carpet bombing each thread, Mario. Nothing wrong in having an opinion on everything. Bit like that myself....
Dunno about a fantastic CV. He's certainly been at a hell of a lot of clubs. Longest spell of management is 28 games, followed by 19, 14 and 9. Can't see much there to suggest that he will be here for any length of time.
I had a spare half hour this afternoon so spent it catching up on here. I know that makes me seem quite sad.
