I don't think "many" is generalising, it just means "a large number".

Never have two truer words been spoken. If he did say it he should have stood by it. I want my politicians to tell the truth and he was most certainly doing that. Not sure if it’s her stupidity, pig-ignorance or genuine malicious intent that’s committing this appalling act of self-harm on the UK, but for once, Corbyn tells us what he actually thinks and he’s right on the money.

We’ve been hurtled into a leaving Europe deal. I’ve no problem with that as it was democratically done with both sides lying. Lying
The big problem is that it has been executed with no proper opposition party to get a deal forced once we were committed. The reason being, because the Labour Party doesn’t exist.
Embarrassing out of touch entitled corbyn is an absolute joke and that leaves maniac womble headed thunder **** out on her own in the shark pool. And she’s *****

As a last resort, when Everything else as failed, when the only way to prevent a nuclear attack on the UK, when conventional weapons are not enough to eliminate the threat, you can probably tell by my reply that I would not want to do it, but if and that's the word "if" everything had been exhausted and this was the only way then yes if it meant saving our nation I would

A last resort? So how would you do it? before someone had actually launched a nuclear strike against us?
So a pre empative nuclear strike killing thousands of innocent people?

You need to read my reply, what would you do if the only way to eliminate a nuclear attack on the UK was to launch a nuclear weapon at the enemy, when you have tried to negotiate, when conventional weapons are not enough, what would you do ?? Btw there is no right or wrong answers it's based simply on an opinion being posted on a footy forum

You can't eliminate a nuclear attack, that statement doesn't make sense. In this scenario has the attack been launched or not?
If we launched nuclear weapons before someone has actually attacked us then the "last resort" also becomes the "first response" and we become the aggressor.
On the flip side if you wait until you have been attacked then launching doesn't change what's already happened.
Not saying I have the answer here just find it a interesting subject.

So the question becomes would you ever push the button before the other side did?

If we had intel saying they were about too, and the ONLY way to prevent an imminent attack on the Uk, and they didn't want to negotiate/ talk then for me yes I would

See for me it's No. I couldn't knowingly condem thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of innocent people to death some of them a horrible torturous death, on the basis of what someone "might" do.

But that's MAD (mutually assured destruction) as soon as the first strike is made then a retaliatory strike would follow. WW3 ensues.

Hopefully what we all think would or wouldn't happen is never realised, so I suppose it could be looked as a deterrent having it, who knows

I think that the ideal position is to have a leader who very credibly says that they would push the button without hesitation, but wouldn't actually do it. There is value in having a credible deterrent but so little to be gained from actual nuclear engagement.

I agree with whichever academic it was that said the nuclear codes should be written on the heart of a civilian and if a leader wants to use nukes they should have to retrieve those codes using only their own hands and a sharp knife.

That’s not the point though is it. It’s racist to say “stupid black” and so it’s probably sexist to say “stupid woman”, as it implies the two are linked.
