I knew there would be one idiot wanting a pointless Brexit regurgitation despite me clearly saying that the thread was about politicians lying.

As for my folks both say if they had known then what they know now they would have voted to stay (my dad is less sure than my mum on that one).

The 'lies' you have mentioned are a mixture of opinions and not economic projections not lies I.e a factual misrepresentation like the 350 million quid claim. We have not left the EU yet we will see in time whether they are or aren't correct. Some will be others not. We have certainly had more public spending cuts but that is probably more to do with the tories 'small state' agenda rather than Brexit. Everyone actually living in the uk knows the employment figures have been manipulated by zero hours contracts et al.

Though as I said initially this Is not about the EU we should leave as soon as possible though attempt to remain thin the Customs union and EEA. It's about those who hold high office repeatedly lying it's wrong.

OK so your OP included a link to the Guardian using Brexit as an example of politicians lying then add a discalimer saying it is not about Brexit. You respond with examples about your parents then, true to form, when presented with evidence that many politicians were/are economical with the truth resort to name calling.

It's widely accepted that we do put that into the EU budget, whether or not some of that comes back into the UK is a different argument

Absolutely not, these are the policies that have crippled the country, leaving the EU won't immediately solve this because the damage the EU has done to us can't be immediately reversed, it will take a generation.

It was as high as £14.5 billion (£278 million per week) in 2013, and as low as £8.7 billion (£168 million per week) in 2009, according to the official EU Finances report published by HM Treasury.

The figure for 2014 was marginally lower than in 2013, at £14.4 billion,
How is that £360 million a week ?

I understand some of the money is spent in the UK, and there is a rebate, but the headline figure isn't untrue. And the UK has sent more to the EU since it's inception in 1992 than any other country, whatever the figure is, I don't think my tax money should be paying for motorways in Lithuania....or indeed paying for the Indian space programme but that's another matter.

The ONS have publicly condemned it as a lie. Something they do incredibly rarely 7 times in 7 years ( the other 6 being all against Jeremy Hunt). It is incorrect and a lie.

Sorry pal my comment still applies, of course money we send to the EU is going to come back to us because we are part of the EU, it would be crazy if it didn't.

I do agree the bus thing was a bit spurious, although to be fair it's had far more attention post referendum than before. I don't think many would argue our EU contribution is a good think for the developing economies in the EU, the trouble is (if the media is to be believed), their most talented are flocking to the UK anyway. Talented or not, net 250,000 a year is crippling us.

He's the one keeping in a job at the minute. Won't work if Boris keeps on lying and the ONS take the 'nuclear option' of physically reporting him to parliament.

I have no real opinion on the EU either way but on this he is lying to position himself in the leadership battle. No more or less. As I said the ONS is not a political organisation and public criticism is incredibly rare. I have heard that they are seriously considering the nuclear option on this such is the irritation at the lie which has never been done which is physically reporting him to parliament.
