I thought Whelan ran the game for them. Experience told yesterday, and once in the lead, Villa never lost their shape. We didn't have enough in our locker to really get behind them, we had a lot of possession but a lot of that was in front of them and sideways. Whilst we weren't great, and 3-0 probably flattered Villa, they've enough in their squad to get promoted for me.

Redfearn had a few clubs as a player. Barnsley was the first and only club he loved. FACT. I was talking to an ex Leeds goalkeeper who came up through their academy. He actually played for Barnsley for one game ( a one nil win away to Palace) under Robins) He was A Leeds fan. He said when you play for the club and you see what happens inside you stop being the fan as it becomes your job and career. Anyway back to Redfearn, read his book if you havnt. It's a decent read

Very weirdly specific thing to say when Steele played in that game

Would that be Rudi Coleano.? He's the partner of Lucy Parteger who plays Charity Dingle in Emmerdale.
Believe he still has some sort of coaching role at Leeds.
To my mind, a former player must have some sort of affinity with any Club they have played for surely.?
For example John Hendrie played for Coventry, Bradford City, Newcastle, Leeds, Middlesbrough and us.
He makes no secret of the fact that he still attends Bradford City games and quite often can commentate on
their progress, but even though things soured a little with us, he still retains an interest. It's like Redfearn, he is
undoubtedly a Leeds United supporter, but surely he must have a soft spot for the Reds.?

Conor is the featured player in todays Daily Mail Football League " One to Eleven"review
where the player is asked eleven specific questions. His replies are as follows:
    1. First football memory
Playing in Cork with close friends before signing for Sunderland aged 16.

    2. Best player you've played with.
John Terry and Seamus Coleman. John works and trains hard every day.
Never gives the ball away. Seamus was a team mate in the Republics U21 team
and we want him back in an Ireland shirt again soon.

    3. Toughest opponent.
Ross Barkley. When I was with Barnsley we played Everton in the League Cup and were
winning 2-0. He came on and they ended up winning 5-3.

    4. Favourite football moment.
Winning two trophies at Wembley. Barnsley beat Millwall 3-1 in the League One play off final
and we also won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Oxford in the same season.

    5.Sporting hero.
Roy Keane. He's from Cork like me. He managed me at Sunderland and Ipswich.

    6. Toughest away ground.
Accrington on a wet cold Tuesday night. They knocked Barnsley out of the FA Cup there on
    a Saturday.

    7. First Album you ever bought.?
What's the story Morning Glory- Oasis.

    8. Favourite Karaoke song.
Ain't no stopping us now- McFadden and Whitehead.

    9. Best dressed team-mate.
    Alan Hutton wears nice gear.

    10. Dream dinner party guests.
Sir Alec Ferguson and Roy Keane. You wouldn't need anyone else there. As a manager Roy
used to chat to me and check that everything was OK.

    11. If I wasn't a footballer, I'd be....
Not sure, but something to do with sport.
