Horrible accident earlier today; 14 year old girl on her way home from school hit by a lorry near Kendray Hospital and killed. I believe some other young girls were with her and witnessed the event. My mother went to pick my son up from his nursery at St Joseph's and had to be taken inside the cordon to collect him as it all happened on the nursery's doorstep. Apparently it looked horrific. They couldn't retrieve her from under the lorry for several hours. It's really affected all of us today, I can't get the poor girl and her family out of my head. If we lose tomorrow and go down, think about how unimportant football really is in the grand scheme of things, and how important family is, and spare a thought for this family who will be going through hell now. May she rest in peace.
That is truly horrendous. And for her sisters to witness it? Those poor girls, that will never leave them. I don’t know the circumstances but spare a thought for the driver too, I doubt that is something he/she will ever get over. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Terrible news, thoughts are with all her family, truly heartbreaking, really does put into perspective how unimportant football really is,
It certainly does put it in perspective, I've just spent the last 2 hours playing with eldest, and i had a moan when he came in to get me up at 6.30. Take what he have for granted. Horrible tragic news I can't imagine what the family are going through.
