Manchester united investigated the possibility of adding a proper one but their roof structure isn't suitable to hold a scoreboard safely and they are unwilling to reduce their capacity to fit a video board into the stand. They have stated their intention to install one of the stadium is ever upgraded further.

Liverpool have stated they intend to install one

so they don't have one which was my original point .....having been to both several times it has never detracted from the experience of watching a game of football

Not having one doesn't make the experience worse than the base level of enjoyment but having one makes the experience better.

Does it? Again your opinion ... my opinion is it doesn't. Didn't come away from either ground thinking .... a scoreboard would have made that game so much better.

Liverpool have just built a 250 million pound stand and still didn't incorporate a screen

I will repeat what I said earlier. A study in America has proven a direct link between active use of a video board and attendance specifically the attendance of youth.

Four questions for you. Please answer honestly.

Do you agree that the display of remaining time in a match is useful?

Do you believe that the ability to see live scores from all other games in the division as the goals come in is something hat many supporters would like?

Do you agree that a video advertisement has a higher value to an advertiser than a static image advertisement (in the same location)?

Do you agree or disagree that the ability to instantly see a replay of a good Barnsley goal adds to the experience?

Thinking about it the advertising hoardings around the pitch don't add to my experience. Let's get shut, players are always clattering into them. Let's go for the "basics", "smart price" stadium. In fact that can be its new name. "basics smartprice stadium".

Apparently Witton Albion are better run than us. They don't have one. Of all the non league grounds I've been to, Chester, Witton, Winsford, Nantwich, Northwich, Worksop...no scoreboard.
Personally I can manage without a clock on the score board. I usually check my watch when we kick off anyway. As has been mentioned the critical part in my eyes is the added time when you start counting down. It's never shown anyway so the scoreboard is useless for that.
I'd like a scoreboard for replays, videos of previous games/goals etc. The one we have is pretty useless for that too.
Yes, I'd like an all singing all dancing big scoreboard. Great. I note that some of the people moaning about not having one (not all but a few) are the ones who moan about no money being spent on the team and us not being able to compete.

You are trying to make me look wrong for having a personal opinion - I DO NOT BELIEVE IT ADDS TO MY EXPERIENCE OF GOING TO WATCH A FOOTBALL MATCH

Amazing how many folk are completely unable to see beyond their own wants or needs. It is 2017 not 1977.

Not really it's about personal views about watching a game of football - you are entitled to yours and I'm entitled to mine. I go to football to watch football is that so wrong ... if people want screen then that's their view doesn't make my view wrong

Nothing wrong with your opinion and I won't try to change that. You aren't the only person there though. It has no negatives for you but has positives for others so on balance I would say it's better to have one than to not.

Why would you need it to show injury time?

If you've checked your watch and noted the second half kicked off at 16:04, you'd know normal time was due to end at 16:49 so you'd just add the injury time on then.

The problem is if you've not checked your watch, which I reckon 99% of folk don't, then you wouldn't know if normal time was due to end at 16:45 or 16:49.

Well my point sort of was....I don't need the scoreboard top tell me the time left. I have a watch. I got used to checking it in the days when we didn't have a scoreboard. I still do. Again, I was principally responding to someone's suggestion that we're worse than a non league club and that those who don't see the need for a scoreboard are living in the dark ages. Yes. I'd love a magnificent scoreboard. We don't have one. Maybe when we have the new owners we will. Til then I'll cope.

the one where you summarised our conversation by expanding yours and narrowing mine to one word reposnses ... you ended it by threatening to through your router out of the window.... akin to banging your head against the wall
