This smacks of panic over season ticket renewals, if we'd missed out of play offs with Collins in charge the atmosphere would have been toxic, now it could just be apathy with some saying Devaneys only had 1 game in charge so what could he do

Renewed this morning.Didnt make any difference whether Collins stayed or left.Heard somebody say they were only renewing because Collins had gone so I said what if next year the football is better but we are mid table in April. He wasn’t bothered about winning or losing so long as it was good to watch.Well he must never have that uncontrollable ecstasy when your team wins in big games.

It’s indoctrination from Sky/TNT other broadcasters that want us to watch all and any football they put on Tv. They’re telling us week in, week out what kind of football we should enjoy there’s a whole generation been brought up on the Spanish national side, Pep’s Barcelona, Pep’s Man City… and they would rather watch ineffective “pretty” football and draw/lose, rather than some blood and thunder football and win.

How odd. At Blackpool there was a guy near me who doesn't want us promoted this season because we would only get embarrassed every week in the Championship. No idea why he bothered going.

Heard that view plenty of times.
Same with the view that Ismael’s season was awful because of the style of football. Same with Moyes at West Ham. Football fans are awful.

Winning football is good football, seen us play free flowing beautiful football and get absolutely tonked into next week, seen us play ugly, niggly, backs to the wall crap and nick a 1-0, sometimes that's just as satisfying.
I don't care how we get out of this league I just want to get out of it, the standard is poor and we've seen teams just turn up put 10 men behind the ball and beat us.

I think the board are possibly more focussed on the chance of an extra £6m in revenue via promotion than potentially losing out on 2000 ST renewals equating to 800k

Just renewed. Genuinely curious about the next rebuild and who comes in.

Despite us still being in with a shout of promotion, this season has been a real low for me. Never came away from Oakwell with a buzz about what I'd just seen. Even the 7-0 was a weird one. Second best for much of the game. Something felt a bit off even then.

Looking forward to a more positive season and a bit of excitement back at Oakwell

I’ve renewed regardless of who the manager/coach is.Players like managers come and go.

That’s not how I remember it. Port Vale were easily best team for around 25 minutes and had a couple of good chances. but so did we. I thought once we scored we upped our game and they just crumbled. I do think some of our fans when mentioning opposition missed opportunities tend to forget our own.

I can't remember the game in detail, so I can't comment on the first part. However, I totally agree with your last comment. The number of times I see posts stating "They could've been 3-0 at HT", based on the oppositions missed chances, but not 3-3 based on ours.

In the first half, there were cries of "this is what we get when there is no pre-season" "this is the football we get when we shop cheap" "we look unprepared" and "Port Vale look so much better". Not just from me :) there was lots of noise. I agree they crumbled after Devante's breakaway goal - they just gave up; but for a few weeks after, so did we.

Anyway, it's done now. A summer upon us with days spent mowing the lawn dreaming of another glorious new regime. Again.

Not for me. PV the better team for most of that first half where, somehow, we went in 2-0 up at the break. We quickly made it 3 and they just seemed to give up.

I agree they dominated first half, but after about 25 mins we started to come into it more. But even when we’re struggling we created a couple of decent chances, that’s all I’m saying.

Don't go near the edges. It seeps into the cement , crumbles it and starts to crack the base layer, causing wobbly flags.

My point was that even after that result, we came away without the buzz you'd normally expect from a scoreline like that. Be nice to bookend the season with a similar result!!
