Tesco's customers wouldn't be running amok in areas of the store they shouldn't be in. I get your point that we must treat our customers (because us supporters are now all seen as customers) with respect but they should not put the club or its employees in that position in the first place. The fans that run on the pitch are idiots, they have been told not to and still insist on doing it. Excitable kids maybe different but even then 99% of them come with parents and the ones who don't are old enough to know better..... if they must go on the pitch , as i did when i was younger get straight off again. And what possessed them to invade the pitch to celebrate a relegation anyway is another matter entirely !!

If customers in Tesco did put them in that position though, the correct response would be to ask them to leave and then get security to escort them out, or the police if it came to it. I don't think calling them idiots over the tannoy would be an option they would visit.

Which is what BFC tried to. Repeated requests to leave the pitch were ignored.

he did say me he said tesco's over the tannoy, which I think implies security ( like the stewards in the ground) personaly I cant see a prob going on the pitch so long as its done orderly taped off team area and that

totally agree jedi one. I can't recall any last of season game when there haven't been fans on the pitch. Each year we have this farce of the club announcing that fans should keep off the pitch at the end of the match and it doesn't stop them. My guess is that if it was announced that fans could actually go on the pitch no one would bother - because once you're on the pitch there's nothing to do - is there?

Pretty much agree with most of that. As for the Tesco's analogy they probably aren't right keen on shoplifters but deal with them privately. As a student I worked nights in a Tescos and at the weekend there would be a stream of pissed up lads chuffing about. Sometimes they would be escorted out occasionally the coppers would be called but despite them being idiots they were never called that it just doesn't make sense as a business ( if that's what we are) to insult your customers.

Fair play, thanks for your service to the club. Never had any issues with you, maybe towards the end of last season it might have been better to have stopped calling us "the super reds!!" Though!!

My only criticism would it's not a result at half time but insisted on calling them half time results

its a good job these laws about running on the pitch wernt around in the seventies, stacks of us ran on to pat the players on the back after more or less every game, and that was after throwing bog rolls on the pitch after they scored. After seeing the '78 world cup we even used to fill carrier bags with ripped up paper to throw in the air as the players came out of the tunnel..Fcukin hell, doncertraz would be busting at the seems if we'd all got arrested.

This dave is right about the noise, its nowhere near what it used to be.It probably got lost as they started to reprogramme everybody, all sit their like stuffed dummies now,you cant even have a top on your bottle of pop FFS.

get some terracing back and watch the atmosphere inside the ground change.

Not that uncommon even today to be honest, a firm I worked for not long back still use a system that was implemented in the early 90s for stock control which runs on DOS, unbelievably reliable system it is as well, trouble is the few IT people who know how to make changes to it either have or are about to retire!

It was funny seeing a youngish admin lad being shown his way around it and being totally perplexed by the fact that the mouse did nothing and having to use the 'F' keys for the first time in his life!

Claytz is a very close friend and has always been professional and served the club with 110% commitment. I would like to say people like Dave who give up their own time as a volunteer for the club deserve credit and with the fact that he also runs a busy town centre pub it's even more remarkable he gave up his Saturday afternoons as well as weekdays when ever the club played. Well done for eventually being able to come on the forum and put your points across.
I will miss the match day banter from the stands but look forward to having extra afternoon pints with you mate prior to the matches.
    Cheers for the memories pal.

Learning Linux and it's not easy! I know what you mean about DOS though.

Anyway, this is a strange change in direction of the thread, so I'll shut up now.

I like this direction change ;)

I'm a huge fan of Linux myself, both command line and the full Operating systems. I have a server box that runs Ubuntu Server, along with another computer that runs Ubuntu Desktop. I also have a laptop on a custom python based UI I made, a VPS that runs on Fedora, and a raspberry Pi that runs on Arch.

(I do love this nerd talk ;))

I don't like it at all, people complain about Windows I think Linux is really user-unfriendly and frustrating, things that should be simple are difficult.
