I am beginning to wonder whether Dane stretches the truth when interviewed e.g. his comments on 25/09 about transfers being very close etc, previous comments about being close with Mowatt and so on. I worked for a guy once who always communicated the best possible scenario, thinking no doubt that he was being positive but actually over time people didn't trust a word he said. Is Dane trying to positively spin everything and thereby creating problems for himself a few weeks down the line?
Got to admit that after the excitement when this lot took over, that feeling has been replaced by one of ongoing disappointment. I for one am beginning to lose interest. I didn't watch our game on Saturday, opting to view Leeds v Wigan in the Rugby Challenge Cup Semi instead. Haven't even bothered watching the You Tube Lowlights from Saturday's game either. Never ever thought that I would feel this way about a club I've supported since 1987.!
I must admit I was annoyed about Stendel gate but I understand if his hands were tied for that, However, we had James Maclean in the away team on the match nearest to Remembrance Sunday. Our protocol should have been watertight to avoid that fine, whichever ground he was at you could guarantee he was going to get some negativity on that Saturday. Actions speak louder than words.
If Andersen has anything like a decent season, he'll be off. Ritzmaier kind of proves my point. We needed experience, but not a left footed central midfielder that was slightly more experienced than the left footed central midfielder that is the club captain. With the exception of Sollbauer, we're not signing players to solve any problems, we're just adding bodies it seems, and like you say, who's going to pay money for Ritzmaier? The fact that Struber seems to be identifying some of these players is why I put some blame on his door, as well as Dane Murphy's.
We'll not know if he's fed scenarios to put out into the media, or if he has the most annoying, and damaging trait so common of his kinsmen of excessive hyperbole despite all possible evidence suggesting otherwise. The problem with excessive hyperbole is it always tends to bite you in the backside eventually. If you happen to be in Barnsley when you use it, that will generally be swiftly!
Losing our head coach, a loan being cancelled, no league win this season and no signing of players being brought in. I am now just waiting for us to go down the Arsenal route for some serious uproar.
