Sorry that a few idiots abused you mate. Don't let the ******** grind you down. I agree the club lacks in a lot of areas. Interaction with the fans got better for a while under Mansford but that went with him. To an extent we treat fans as a cash cow to be milked with no regard or care for them.

As for the takeover I cannot see how anything you 'said' is in any way controversial.

    Keep on keeping on.

Credit Darfield for reining in at the club's request. As fans we have a thirst for information and, perhaps, a moral right to as much as can be given to us without damaging the interests of the club.
In reality we pay money to watch football and have no actual right to anything beyond watching the games.
As JC said Ben Mansford was the best information conduit the club has had in my lifetime. By a long chalk. And he still got slagged off gor it. Let's hope that Ganaye becomes as good at interacting with fans in time. But there will always be things that need to be kept under wraps for the good of OUR club.

That's because the custodian dunt gi' a chuff. Despite to the protestations to the contrary.

Although the defenders of the club will tell you it wouldn't work at Oakwell, It worked for Witton Albion but it wouldn't work for us.

What's the relevance of Witton Albion, Conan? Genuine question.

They had their anniversary around the same time as us. They did loads for it. They even managed to do a replica shirt. This is a club in the Unibond League.

Remember its only your club when they're after a couple of quid off yer..

All the rest is just a sheen...

It has only as much power over you, as you give it.

I will hold my hands up and say I got it wrong about the Thiam deal mate. I was honestly told by a usually reliable source that (at the time I posted) the deal was off. All of a sudden a couple of days later, it was back on and I had egg on my face.

Until recently they were the nearest club to me. I've been to see them quite a few times. They're a great little club. Founded the same year as us. They're in the Evostik Premier.
I thought we did a replica shirt.
As for what else they did, I'm not sure but their fans still moan just like ours do. So I'm not sure what your point is other than to have yet another dig at the guy who has done his damndest to keep our club healthy.

The club did not do a replica shirt.

From a commercial point of view I have seen very little improvement. If you think Cryne has done his damndest in this regard then so be it. I think we are streets behind clubs much further down the pecking order. Thing is, whenever this is raised people will just say "I'm not interested in....." or "I don't care what insert club name does - I'm a Barnsley fan". **** like that.

I thought they did a replica of the original in the chocolate colour?
I am interested in clubs doing things better. There are things we could do better.
To traduce the owner for not giving a chuff, however, is utter, disrespectful garbage.

That was nothing to do with the club.

What do you think the club have done then to improve the matchday experience or the commercial side of things? How do you think we compare to other grounds you've been to?

I've been to Witton for one. Pretty damn good. That was who you were drawing a parallel with wasn't it? When you didn't think anyone had actually been to the place.

So we're doing better than Witton Albion. Quality. That's what we aspire to.

You make me laugh. YOU were the one that made the unfavourable comparison to Witton Albion. Not me. Yet again you were looking to belittle the running of the club and the owner in particular.
I'll tell you this Conan. If you WERE a fan of Witton you'd be going fecking nuts. Their biggest rival (Northwich Vics) have imploded. A club a couple of miles down the road (or were when they still had a ground). And Witton aren't making much inroads as yet into acquiring their supporters as yet. I dread to think what you'd be calling the Witton board right now. Plus...they just got promoted and promptly sold their best player.

You make me laugh. Owt's good enough as long there is still a club.

My mate watches Witton every now and then and he said (in his opinion) that they did far more for their anniversary celebrations than we did. They are at level seven. That's why I used them as an example. I then asked you how we compared to other clubs for match day experience and so on and your response was "better than Witton". So that's all you aspire to. Why don't we aim high and try to be "as good as Accrington?"

How do you think we compare to Championship or even League One grounds you have been to?

Yes and you should be thanking Patrick Cryne there's still a club. Otherwise you'd have been moaning as we DID play clubs like Witton after we had to start from scratch again.
If you actually read what I wrote I did say there was room for improvement and that there are things we could do better.
"I am interested in clubs doing things better. There are things we could do better" is what I actually put and you chose to ignore.
The club is currently playing at the level it has always aspired to. A level it has always been one of the lesser fish in. It still is. Patrick Cryne helped get us back to this level. We're doing comparatively as well as we've ever done by and large. Yes, things could be done better. We should, in my opinion be spending some of the cash we've earned on reduced season ticket prices in an attempt to gradually increase the fanbase. I think the effects would be negligible but I'd like to see us give it a go.
As for comparisons with other Championship grounds (I've been to nearly 100 grounds in my time throughout the leagues) we could be better. I'd like to see the West Stand modernised and have said so on here. It looks a mess from the outside though some people like it as it is.
I'm not going to sit here and slag off the people who stabilised us for anything and everything though. Because I'm not a moaning barrack room lawyer who has no solutions just a constant stream of complaints.

Maybe your mate has a more positive outlook than you. It wouldn't be difficult.
