Nothing to support this, but looking round the various media outlets and tweets from our fans on
Twitter, it looks increasingly likely that Simon Grayson will be our new manager before Saturday's
game against Sheffield Wednesday. Apart from his spell in charge at Sunderland his stints at
Leeds, Huddersfield and Preston were relatively successful. He's also a Yorkshireman, so he gets
    our heritage, pride and passion.

Reads like fluff that an agent would put out. He wouldn't be my choice - everytime I've seen a team he's managed against Barnsley they weren't playing the sort of football I'd want to see us play. Then again he's out of work, available and there'll be no compensation package so I can see his attractions from a cost point of view.

For the short term I'm not too fussed about the quality of football. For this season I'd rather see some results than attractive football without the attached results.

For the longer term maybe someone else would be preferable. But who knows how he does. Maybe we'll like him. Sign for now, reassess in the summer.

Grayson would not be my first choice, in fact not sure he would be a choice for me full stop. I find his style of football extremely frustrating, but if it is him, then at least there aren’t many games left to watch this season. The thing for me is that at times this season we have played some great football, pressing and getting up the pitch quickly on the counter. I think that this is our only way to win games at the moment and going for bore draws is not the answer.

I'd like to see an appointment that will galvanise the Town in the same way that appointing Allan Clarke did. Can't see Grayson putting bums on seats and given the style of football his teams play he might even drive a few away.

A relegation will drive more people away though. Attendances have historically been very much correlated to the league we were in.

If his "style" gets wins and points on the board he'll keep us up and bring more people in than he drives away. Position we're in we need results more than we need flowing football.

Might be nice to be pragmatic for a change and put substance before style. Just for a season or two till we establish ourselves at this level.

Winning matches puts bums on seats. Me personally, I dont care what style we play (did we really play champagne football under hecky) it could be sheff utd of the early 90s, if were winning i couldnt give a monkeys wobbly bits. Im sick of walking up that hill after matches after getting dicked again. Im not saying Grayson would get this team winning but id defo sacrifice style for points, all day long.

Th club needs to become more cynical on and off the field. Grayson all day long for me, let's get some people hating us rather than patting us on the head while we're bent over.

A lot of us on here and at Oakwell have pointed out that we aren't streetwise enough at this level so maybe Grayson could be the answer .
Although I wouldn't want him to go to his previous extremes eg crippling Butterfield and turning Pearson into Michael Brown .

Rather go down than watch his football although tbf it can't be as bad as that we've been served up so far. Personally I don't think goin down would be the worst thing in the world again, give us chance to completely rebuild but learn from the farcical mistakes we made last time

Big mate of Mick McCarthy is Simon Grayson. Done well with teams he managed apart from Sunderland. Style of play may not be Barcelona but it has been effective. What he looks like (as some mentioned earlier) has no bearing on his mangement skills.
