The best solo song Peter Gabriel did, but not as good as the tunes his Genesis band mate Phil Collins churned out.
Loved this show. Used to stay up until something stupid like 2:30am to watch it because we didn't have a video at the time. Tried to watch an episode fairly recently and it was almost unwatchable. Never grow old kids!
"Games Without Frontiers" by Peter Gabriel is a song that touches on themes of war, politics, and international relations. The lyrics reflect on the absurdity and destructive nature of conflict, using imagery of children's games to illustrate the seriousness of global issues. The phrase "games without frontiers" suggests that political and military actions often transcend national boundaries, affecting people worldwide. Overall, the song critiques the power struggles and violence that pervade human society.
Nowhere near the best song on the album and not his best single; Solsbury Hill, Biko and Don't Give Up (with Kate Bush) all being better. Biko being the standout for me.
