and your source is ???
It's been 8 hours since the rumoured bid went in.... Time to move on I think if he's not signed yet!
Report on Newsnow ..says emphatic no from Everton.
Not interested in selling
Yorkshire giants. Laugh out loud.
It also says that he will stay on loan with us , therefore if we fail now, who knows what will happen in the future but if you do not try you do not get
So did I... never ever heard that before..
I stopped taking the source seriously well before I got to that bit!
What’s an emphatic no,is that different to just a no.
That’s fine. It’s exactly what we should do next time they want a player of ours unless they are paying over the going rate.
Anyone know how long he is contracted to them for? We've ended selling enough of ours as they near the end.
slip him some dosh & tell him to become a free agent
Signed till 2020 just before he came on loan to us i believe.
Unless they've told us in no uncertain terms that he's not for sale, this is probably just the start. Interestingly, when my brother and I were discussing the situation, both buyback and annulling Holgate's sell-on clause were mentioned as possible levers, things which an Everton fan also suggests.
Following the Stones transfer and the number of alleged attempts to buy out the sell-on clause, it really wouldn't surprise me if they attempted to weave this into any deal. Assuming that Mason goes for £20-25 million next time he's sold, that's around £3 million potentially for starters, but quite different to us paying £3 million in cash.
To be honest I'm not sure how I'd feel about this, as while on the one hand if there's any chance of signing Joe Williams permanently I think we should try our utmost to make it happen, on the other hand allowing sell-on clauses to be bought out undermines our whole modus operandi.
