According to Carlo Boring, who is droning on right now, "he no picka Rhodes fora penalti cos he no confident to take one". This is a premier league forward, supposedly gone there to sign for £10 million, does not have the character to step up ON HIS HOME GROUND, IN FRONT OF HIS HOME KOP to score from 12 yards out. Can't imagine Paul Hayes saying "no thanks, don't want it".
Is Rhodes a done deal? If not I can see Wednesday and Boro doing a bit of "to me, to you" Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I suppose it depended on where the two teams finished this season. With both having failed....who knows? I presume the fee was payable if they went up.
In all fairness to Rhodes, he's only just escaped from Angus MacDonald's pocket after our match at Oakwell!
No I think he's still there to be honest. Certainly been invisible. Maybe he felt loyalty to his former employers and didn't want to upset them.
Their fans arent impressed thats for sure - even suggesting Winnall should have been on instead of Rhodes, they do have a point a £10million striker who is too scared to take a penalty - oh dear!
60k a week and massive transfer fees but won't take a penalty against his boyhood club. No club should ever want to touch him for his lack of professionalism. I remember Andy Payton looking like he was going to cry scoring for us that pretty much relegated his boyhood team Burnley.
He's pathetic. Spends all week practising his finishing whilst defenders are doing defensive drills & then when he's needed he's happy to pass the burden on to defensive players.
To be fair he's not alone in passing on the responsibility during a game. We see it every week where skilled midfielders are too scared to look up and make a killer pass, or a run. It's much easier just to lay it off to a full back or pass back to a centre half. Give them the responsibility. Let them hoof it up aimlessly. Happens at Oakwell, happens at every ground. Players sometimes just don't have the courage to DO what they are paid to do. What Rhodes did last night was scandalous considering the money he is on and his scoring record. I'm glad he did it though, and that the Portuguese gnome didn't bring his star striker on who would DEFINITELY have taken a penalty, and scored.
I understood he was going to sign a permanent deal after the Huddersfield game but he's got a phobia over pens.!!!!
