The other way round it is to get players on permanent deals and leave the loan options open but we've not done that, so you have to ask what's the point of a transfer committee? .

Having a squad that can play all systems and formations will never be a detriment to any club

I think we should ask around 30 other managers who we might appoint in future and ask them for which style they would like, then sign about 100 players which we might need sometime in the future in case we sack Johnson, then that manager, but we'll always be covered

 

I think Crowley can play there too so we've got loads of flexibility in midfield if we want to play different styles, but as you say we're not in general going to play with out and out wingers

So LJ isn't allowed loan players in case a manager we appoint in the future wishes to use them in order to sign wingers?

He also should be forced into signing players he doesn't want just a case a manager we appoint in the future wishes to play them. In the mean time said players are becoming frustrated and disruptive during training given that they've been signed on with no intention of playing. Whilst also wasting a fortune in wages as we've already talked about.

Why not appoint a coach and back him 100%, giving him all the support and resources the club can afford to give. Then we might actually achieve something.

To do exactly what we're doing now.

Use a recruitment strategy to bring in the best players we can whilst having who we believe to be the best man for the job get these players playing to the best of their ability.

Even if LJ was recruiting solely on his own. According to your logic he's still be told to plan for when he got sacked and bring in players he doesn't need in case a future appointment might need them.

Looks like your one :Tyke:, who hasn't got the LJ / Tommy Wright + PC + BM Philosophy and plan yet. Or maybe you have but you don't like it?

They have recruited based on youth, resale value and players who can add something to our squad to make it better than last season. So far this looks ok. It is clear we still have to find cover for positions and have some areas weaker than others. Its no secret we are after two strikers and are looking at experience in this position. Its also clear to everyone who listens that the squad isn't complete. Its been said by LJ recently that there is more to do and that we need to have a squad that enables us to change formations. For that you need the players and the commitment. That's what he is building. we aren't 100% there. Its also clear we cant empty our pockets at the season start and run empty on funds in the Christmas transfer window. However we aren't far off where LJ thinks we need to be to start the season.

I get it, I support it and I can see where we are aiming. Do you? From this I think not.
