Songs that were fairly popular but nobody remembers them

And by popular i mean had quite a lot of play time on the radio and/music channels.

I'll start with Lene marlin - sitting down here.

Literally nobody i have ever mentioned it to remembers this song

 

I remember that song, I just had no idea who'd released it.

 

I think that's always been the problem when I've mentioned it. Nobody knows her name.

1999 was a great year for pretty poor but simple summer songs.
Lene marlin - sitting down here
Len - steal my sunshine
LFO - summer girls (cheesy but catchy)
Vengaboys - boom boom boom boom
Blink 182 - all the small things (one for everyone's favourite media guy)
The offspring - pretty fly for a white guy
S club - bring it all back
Lou bega - mambo number 5
Ricky Martin - living la Vida loca

You can keep your rihanna and beyonce

 

I only remember a couple of those songs but I suppose I'm from a different vintage musically.

 

Not as popular, but We're Going Out by the Younger Younger 28s was a '99 'classic' too.

 

Lipstick, cigarettes, packet of 3. We're going out
High heels, sex appeal, low cut dress. We're going out.
Pull in mi butt cheeks, push out mi chest, we're going out.
We're going out. In Manchester. we're going out.

And so on

 

I doubt any of those are songs that people don't remember.

 

I went a bit off track into thinking of the popular songs from 1999.

I would imagine that the only one people wouldn't remember is steal my sunshine. They'd know it when they heard it but wouldn't recognise the name.
