It seems only us went into admin so obviously we utilised different to other clubs It wasn’t guaranteed income the fact it didn’t come in proves that. Anybody would think ITV digital were a shock . It was in the business domain months that things weren’t right . Ffs everybody up our street apart from us had dodgy box
Perhaps you should have alerted the club then. It WAS guaranteed income as far as anyone was concerned. Pointless carrying on.
It was guaranteed income with blinkers on . And ye I was the only one who knew that itv digital were heading for trouble not . Your right we going round in circles as you seem to think that garuanteed income iismt garuanteed . Patrick asked for fans to purchase season tickets early for transfers That’s garuanteed not I’ll give you some money next Tuesday s your implying
Bit of bedtime reading for you. http://www.itsroundanditswhite.co.u...itv-digital-collapse-on-lower-league-football
Whilst I’m sure some mistakes were made by the board at the time of administration, you only have to look round the ground, the training facilities and the acedemy to see what was achieved under John Dennis’s stewardship, which remains as a lasting legacy to our club. That’s without even considering the years 1996-2000 on the pitch. Patrick admitted he had made many mistakes, I saw Glavin, Redfearn and McCarthy make stacks of mistakes but they all deservedly remain legends. Why should John Dennis be viewed any differently. If Sky collapsed today, every one of the 92 league clubs would immediately go into administration, along with most other clubs across the world.
I'm sorry but you just don't seem to understand business & finance. The club is a limited company & directors / shareholders have limited liability , up to them losing what they have put in. All directors are asked to give personal guarantees to small business ventures, usually backed up by their homes. Need I go on with the school lesson.
I'm giving up on this thread. I realise totally why no local person was ever going to take over this football club. x
The training facilities were a fantastic achievement and as I said earlier I don’t think for one minute JD left club as he did maliciously . But those training facilities along with ground and team were nearly lost . and yes if sky were to pull out I’m sure manny clubs would suffer but these are different times to then. Only one club went into admin
Ma Maybe II don’t know the ways of business as neither do some of the other replies to me do either . All I know for certain is we nearly lost the club and that was a big shock for me as with any others . We may have different views but I’ve had different views with you before and they have always ended amicably so the Shool lesson was uncalled for tbh You getting to sound a bit like Conan moannan only a lot more intelligent lol
I'm a Corbynite, but a businessman. Too many people read stuff in the tabloids (mostly owned by the guy who pulled the plug). Sorry you were hoodwinked. Business is business. Family is family. You are talking about thinks you know f-all about. That man gave everything to this club & brought us our best days. I'm excited about the future as a Barnsley fan, but if you can't understand the past you have nowhere to go.
