I watched the countless times he mis controls it and ends up kicking it anywhere under pressure, or the times he fails to play a simple pass or the times he goes completely the wrong way back into trouble with the ball. The lads hopeless, he is our HUGE weak link.

I dunno whether that McCourt or the other lad, cant think of his name, are good enough yet but surely theyve got to be worth a go, or when are one of the full backs, back available to push Scowen into midfield? Either that or drop Hourihane deeper and play Tuton as an attacking midfielder. Somethings got to change because that midfield offers nothing at present.

Maybe it's not been done in the right way but Hourihane and Brownhill have been poor for a few weeks. There is no denying that. I think the problem is they are too similar. Play one and Scowan. At least that way you've got a player with some drive and tenacity in there. Too many players ducking out of tackles for my liking as well. We've not made the playoffs yet. We need to stick to the ideals that made us hard to beat.

I dont think Hourihanes the problem, which coming from me says a lot. Brownhill offers absolutely nothing other than winning a couple of break away tackles that I'd expect Brian O Callaghan to win. What people see in him is beyond me. I've said for a long time he'll end up costing us.

Isgrove, as much as I like him, is possibly the biggest nesher I've come across in football at any level.

I agree. My post aimed at Hourihane wasn't because he is worse than Brownhill he definitely definitely isn't. It was purely based on the captaincy

Agreed. Brown hills been getting unfair stick on here for weeks now. Totally uncalled for and not justified. If only Hourihane & Winnall put as much effort in as him today. Also, they are the 2 biggest whinges in league one

You've got to be on a wind up here surely? Wheres this effort he apparently puts in? Only time he moves is when he's mis controlled it and is stretching to whack it anywhere. As far as I'm concerned he's got off very, very lightly with his performances for a very long time. The kids destined for league 2.

Spot on. Some absolute garbage in this thread, as I suspect there will be on this Board tonight. Grow up or go to Sheffield.

I was angry left at full time not waiting to clap the lap of honour which is something that I really wanted to do today but I couldn't stay after what happened. We have some excellent players but we got it wrong today any of the others in the top 6 would have done the job professionally today and secured the win. Saying that we are as good if not better than the playoff rivals and this should really hit home to our team today as the biggest issue today was some of the players attitude not talent or commitment.

Not make any difference, Hourihane's mind is probably on who he'll be playing for next season.

What was missing today was experience in seeing out a game.

Hammil is the most experienced but he's an attacking player.

It's the price were paying for a young squad ,but they haven't done bad so far.

Re: Strio hourihane of the captaincy

He's captained us to our first cup win in 104 years, him becoming captain started our great run, he's our top man for setting up goals, he's second for scoring goals and played over 50 games with a near faultless disciplinary/injury record. Somehow he got beat to the player of the year award, that is what I find poor. No way should the guy most responsible for our league position be stripped of his captaincy. All he did was show a bit of passion. If he was silent as captain he'd get abused for that too. He's not responsible for tactics. If he was telling people to slow it down and Heckingbottom didn't want that we would soon have stopped it off. He's the head man on the pitch so his job is to relay to ten others what the boss on the bench wants.

Nothing of what you have wrote shows me he's a good captain. Not that I'm calling for him to be stripped of it but him becoming captain did not start our run, nor does him being effective from set pieces make him a good captain. As for him being the guy most responsible for our position, I'd point to the 20 goals Winnalls scored.
