I think it's you that needs to grow up. Hourihane didn't have the best of games today for sure but he worked his nadges off and won the ball back on many many occasions. I didn't see him crying to the crowd and he was within his rights to complain to the ref. Particularly after Colchester's first goal when Isgrove was blatantly fouled in the centre circle.

Get off the players' backs and SUPPORT THEM for f***s sake.

Next time he (and this isn't just today either) should try playing to the whistle instead of bairning to the ref. Made no effort to run back for that first goal. On that front he isn't the only one, far too many players (for and against us) stop playing and start whining while the game is going on

Can't we just be disappointed and maybe a little disheartened by today rather than all this insane criticism of our better players. They aren't good all the time it's why, to an extent, they are playing for us. Hard to say if they are genuinely held beliefs or just sad wind ups looking for a rise.

Support the team rather than bitching.

It's been building for weeks with certain players performances. Brownhill and Hammill in particular.

If we had players that could consistently influence games they would be playing at a higher level. I'd agree that Brownhill has looked tired and in need of a rest and that Hammill has been playing indifferently recent. Winnall still looks like he is still carrying an injury and has been less effective as a result. Unfortunately we are not in a position to replace any of those players at the moment. So criticising them is pretty pointless and just feels petty.

Hourihane has been consistently good though does not get forward as much as perhaps he might and played at a reasonable level today.

Instead we should perhaps focus on the fact that the play offs are still in our hands. Fletcher and Roberts were pretty good today and hopefully they can carry that forward.

See I dont get that viewpoint. We shouldnt expect our players to be consistent because they wouldnt be here. This is their current level, so yes I'm well within my rights go expect them to be reasonably consistent. Criticising them is much more what they need than happy clapping them at any opportunity. How else are they going to realise they havent been anywhere near good enough, Hourihane seems to think they're exempt from any bad thoughts and I cant see Hecky giving them any stick.

There has still been a level of consistency Hammill has scored and assisted goals whilst playing below his standards. Winnall has scored goals though not as many as he should. There's a difference between that and saying they should be consistently fantastic all the time. It's just not going to happen.

Criticising them when you do not have players to replace them achieves what exactly?

    Anyhow sorrows to drown.

I dont expect anyone to be fantastic all the time. My problem is that I cant fathom how Brownhill justifies a shirt or how Hammill, the huge saviour that he apparently is, is still starting every game regardless of how bad he's been.

Either McCourt or played Hourihane deeper and Tuton as an attacking midfielder.

If Hourihane had got any deeper, he'd have been sat with me.

Probably because he was trying to mop up all Brownhills mistakes.

Just out of interest have you see either McCourt or Tuton start a game?

I've not & I can only assume they aren't getting a game because Hecky, Wright & the rest of the coaches see them for the under 21's & don't think they're either ready for first team football or good enough to replace our jaded players.

You'll need to work on that one then...most other fans realise it's because he's one of..if not the best winger in the league.

Kin el fire. Now that the beer has worn off I hope one or two of you are cringing at your posts from yesterday. Drama Queen behaviour at its finest. The comments about Hourihane and Brownhill are particularly laughable. Give your head a shake and cast your mind back to the dark days before Brownhill and Hammill arrived (when the very same Ben Pearson was offering NOWT until the 2 games before his move). Bottom of the chuffing league!!

We ballsed up with the tactics yesterday when they went down to 10 men, but we're still in it. I reckon we'll beat Wigan next week.

Good post. What a load of absolute bollx spoken last night by some on here. The boos at the end of the game made me feel ashamed. Similarly the stuff on here is both shameful and cringeworthy.
