Thank goodness this has come up. I was worried that if Wigan lost their appeal we wouldn’t have anything else to worry about for a few days.
The manager revolving door at Watford is faster cycle than our player revolving door. however the money is one thing. The Family position is another. A factor that cant be overlooked is where he feels he has the beat chance of success and what support and tools for the job he is given. Hecky clearly had those things in his mind and maybe Stendel did too. What is it that would keep him with us i wonder?
I thought we always had to have something, however unlikely, to worry about? I thought it was one of the prerequisites for being a Barnsley fan.
Ho How many of our staff have we run fully a contract on i wonder? I hope we have enough to keep him and to be Honest cant see him being Top of these club targets at this stage
I wouldn’t, If I was Watford and was looking towards the Championship, I would be looking at those in and just below the playoffs. The only appeal Struber would offer me would be he would be cheap in comparison.
It's the way of life for a Barnsley supporter these days. When we get something that seems good you can bet your bottom dollar it will be gone in double quick time. But as a previous poster has said, it's good to have something else to worry about apart from the appeal. I'm coping better with things today.
With a family based in Austria, I'd guess he has a (long-term) eye on a top job in Southern Germany or Northern Italy and sees us as a stepping stone towards that aim - although surprised he didn't take the opportunity for his family to try England for a spell (which suggests to me he was gone if we went down).
For me there’s no certainty to being a football manager other than the certainty that most get sacked,By a normal working families standards Hecky will be set up for life after his little adventure at Leeds as Struber would be If je went to watford for as long as it lasts.
Hope struber doesnt go but if Watford do trigger the big release fee we apparently have I'd go straight in for Ainsworth at wycombe.
Possibly I just think Ainsworth would be a good candidate, had two promotions with wycombe while losing his best players each season.
A man after our boards heart alright, bit he seems to cater to players at the older end of the spectrum!
