Struber's press conference comments about Andersen

Strubers as crap and limited as the players he’s brought in and mostly trying to manage for me. The ones that are decent he’s playing totally out of position, clueless.

Owners purely to blame, doing things totally and utterly on the cheap-cheap and hopelessly failing at it.

 

I always type Minority Report into a word processor and then copy/paste to the BBS. I got as far as typing the report, but given the atmosphere in the ground, I was a bit worried about posting it. In spite of what many think, I am not a mere publicity seeker. I try to give information that I think many will not have recorded. Before I posted it, I read a few of the threads, and it was clear that people were too angry to appreciate it in the way that I intended. I decided not to post it, and it got no further than my computer. I hate to yield to the mob, but I thought discretion the better part of valour on this occasion.

Fergie, Clough, Paisley, Shankly all spoke about players in the press.

I’m not saying it’s right but at some point tough love is what’s needed to get a reaction.

Jose tried to do it with Shaw.

 

It's not a coincidence that our form has dipped once Struber started to be critical of the players in public.

 

If you listen to the interview again Andy Giddings pacifically asks Struber about Anderson and the mistakes he has made.Maybe Struber should have said no comment.You make it sound like he's gave him a career defining dressing down and he hasn't.You also didn't mention Struber saying its my job to guide him through this.
I think Giddings was at fault and being disrespectful To Anderson by publicly asking the question but I thought Struber answered it truthfully but also compassionately.

 

There’s clearly been a sea-change in thinking at the club. The board and the fans are oceans apart in their vision for the future. Soaking up wave after wave of pressure with these minnows at the back just leaves us marooned and sinking fast.

Wasnt it Clough who supposedly punched Roy keane cos he'd played badly? Think that sort of management style is in the past.

 

Or he could say we're a team and I'm not discussing individual players. He had options.

 

Strubers man management skills are absolutely appalling.

Yes drop Andersen, please God drop Andersen, but don't single him out and slag him off in the press.

I dont like to see it done, publicly slating young players. i have said before on here I dont like it when another head coach we had did it a few times. Does nothing for their confidence, mass needed dropping a while back everyone could see that bar struber.

 

A bit difficult to do when you haven't got enough centre-halves in the squad though.

 

Halme could have player since we bought the other Austrian. Mads ****** up v preston and the kept his place even though we had brought in the new lad and had halme

 

At one point he had diaby, halme, sibbick and Andersen to choose from but chose Andersen each week.

 

Slagging off Struber for what he's said about Andersen means more from those who have chosen not to ridicule said player in print on here.

A Wimbledon fan would beg to differ. Sibbick never played at Centre-Half before coming to Oakwell.
