I said I don't know what we can do in terms of his contract. If we need to free up wages to bring other players in then I would think the club will consider all options.

My query related to the bringing in of another player, in this age of "fair play", and whether paying off Isgrove meant that we could stretch the permissible wage bill so that someone else can be brought in.

Otherwise your post, as BarnsleyReds has pointed out, seems to lack a bit of logic.

Why pay a player off and wave bye bye, getting nowt for your money when, by your own post, he has "a lot to offer"?

You wouldn't pay him his whole wage. You would offer a percentage. This would only really work if the player is out of favour rather than a crock. A crock will take what he can get as long as he can.

I said he has a lot to offer when fit but his injury record is a major issue. And yes as I said in another post the club may look to pay him up so they can bring another player in without falling foul of FFP.

    Show some ******* compassion.

Not to mention, nobody in their right mind would take less than the contract value when they know they are unable to get another job for the time being.

For a young man potentially losing his career.

I'm sure he will have earnt enough to set himself up in another career. He's on a six figure salary for nowt. He should use it wisely.

I'll save my compassion for people on 20k who lose their jobs because they have ME. Who's going to worry about their career?

You carry on worrying about someone who will have been paid seven figures over his career.

Oh aye, “You can stay and we’ll pay you your whole wage or we can pay you 70% and kick you to the kerb”.

“I’ll take the 70% please” said no-one ever.

It's not one or the other.

You sound very bitter that footballers make a good salary.

I prefer our fans taking the piss out of our injured players to the opposition taking the piss out of our fit ones, like Charlton have done at times today.

I think the money they get is disgusting. Some of em anyway.

What I think is more disgusting is when people like yourself try to turn them into victims.

I see Dwight Yorke owes HMRC £1.5m. Maybe we should have a whip round for him.

I wouldn't wish a career threatening injury on anyone who has done me no wrong whether that's a footballer, nurse or bin man

Again with th accusations. If I were you I'd be very careful with what allegations you're making because they are extremely defamatory

Maybe our medical dept. has fuxked it up again like Ryan Williams. oh yeah you thought he was a shirker too.

No one is suggesting Dwight Yorke should have help pay his taxes so why bring that to the party yer tw@t.

Sounds like a dig at the club. Is it the same medical team? I assume you know that for a fact.

Forget taking the piss out of injured players but we ought to be having a discussion about what’s going off.

By my reckoning all of Cavare, Pinnock, Fryers, Yiadom, Gardner, Hedges & Isgrove all spent several months of last season out injured & now Isgrove, Hedges & Fryers have carried it on into this season.

Are we just unlucky or are we not looking after our players properly?

We went down on the last day & lost about £6m by going down according to many, that’s peanuts compared to what it’d cost for an expert in sports science joining the club
