Apparantley after today's comments from Rick Parry, Gordon Taylor etc they've all realised its no longer acceptable to spend 106%+ of income on players wages. That parachute payments are detrimental to other clubs who are trying to compete for promotion.. ...... I've 3 letters for em. F F and P. It beggars belief some folk are in positions and talk so much sh17e. At which point when clubs are going out of business, clubs overspending to get to the so called promised land and blows 300~400k a week on a players wages didn't they realise eventually one way or another things would got T17s up?!? It's laughable at least.
This virus and what it's doing is heart breaking but in relation to paying footballers 5/6 weeks pay what many earn in a lifetime is a joke, I hope and and think that the damage it as caused sport in general will always be at the back of the mind of the so called rich/ big clubs,, I definitely think sky will absolutely reduce the stupid amount of money they throw at the PL, for me that's a good thing, Sky would also have taken a massive hit in the last few months on people cancelling contracts and some, me included not returning, £120 a month for the full package when I can get netflix for £7 a month and a fire stick for £60 a year. Every cloud as they say
I hope all those clubs that overspend constantly and perpetuate the cycle of debt go bust. It’s harsh on their fans but it can’t go on like it is.
Can't believe how long Gordon Taylor has been boss of the PFA - since 1981!! So now entering his 5th decade in the same job. Thought high powered positions like this usually benefit from a fresh set of eyes every few years but this guy's reminiscent of Jimmy Hoffa at the Teamsters Union. Actually,Jimmy Hoffa didn't last a fraction of the time Taylor has so scrub that
Probably the most sence i have heard spoken in the media by one individual..... lets hope the powers that be listen and act.
Ever since 2018, and the attitudes of Birmingham and Bolton fans regarding their survival at the expense of Barnsley, my attitude is: f*ck them. If they're happy to see their club cheat, thats not Barnsley's problem. We play by the rules, they don't. I welcome any potential liquidation.
I liked that,he ( don't know who it was speaking) said all the same things we have said on this forum for years. Jim White has changed since I last saw him a few years ago.
Gordon Taylor's job is to get the best deal for his members, not a fair deal. A lot of them are minted for kicking a ball around. Hopefully, that will come crashing down for a while. We have a lot of pain to come in the next few years, I'll be surprised if there's much spare to spaff on players wages.
Im sure its x Crystal Palace chairman, Simon Jordan, who yonks ago, i wasnt fond of (probably the orange permo tan!!) but speaks for the majority (of clubs)....i reckon.
Simon Jordan would know all about balancing the books and that, what, with him not being the man who put Crystal Palace into administration and eventually very close to going out of existence.
