I'd agree with the last bit. I personally prefer Williams over Gardner. I can't see us starting to play 4231 either.

Not gonna happen but this would be an interesting lineup 3-5-1-1

    Davies

    Lindsay Goose Pearson

    Yiadom Fryers

    Williams Moncur Potts

    Hammill

    Bradshaw

Both Gardner and Williams have previously played further forward, in fact Gardner (to my knowledge) has rarely played as a DM shielding the back four so I do wonder if on occasion PH may be tempted to play a more solid midfield three with both Williams and Gardner featuring alongside a more box to box creative midfielder, a la Moncur, etc.

If you’re playing something so narrow then the 10 has to have the ability to get beyond the central striker otherwise it’s pointless. If we were to play that system I’d look to play Barnes off the front man in the position that he often occupies for the England youth sides. I’d also change the back three to play McCarthy, MacDonald and Lindsey as the central three with Yiadom and Fryers as wing backs.

Mcgeehan not worth a start at the minute he's gone missing since Boro at home.

I agree moncur over Gardner, my selection was based on most experienced team we could play on such a big occasion and atmosphere. Cardiff Hull games our inexperience cost points I'd like to try :

    Davies
    Yiadom lindsay Mcdonald fryers
Isgrove, williams, potts or moncur, hammill
    Barnes central
New Jan striker until then bradshaw

Potts for McGeehan on current form, or even for Moncur.

Either way Potts should be in that midfield.

    Potts is my new favourite.

    Love an underdog.

Sorry, are you saying Potts wins headers?

He's the archetypal 6 footer when standing and 5 ft 9in when he jumps

Don't be sorry for having an opinion.

The lad wins more headers than anyone else in our midfield.

I didn't say he was the new mick Mccarthy, but he does win headers.

Drop Potts? McGeehan & Moncur too similar. I'd go:
    Davies

    Yiadom MacDonald Lindsay Fryers

    Williams

    Barnes McGeehan Potts

    Bradshaw Ugbo

Subs: Walton, McCarthy, Pearson, Gardner, Hammill, Moncur, Thiam

Leeds may be daft but trying to field 12 players would probably get spotted.

If Berardi's playing for Leeds (sadly think he might be dropped after last night) at left-back and Ayling at right back then we have to get the ball out regularly to Barnes and Hammill and expose them. Both full backs are candidates for rash tackles and bookings, as well as being no match for the pace and skill of our two. Only worry is that the ref is from Ossett, West Yorkshire (wtf)!

Leeds have not won a single point from behind all season and so we need to get at them, start fast and try and score early.
