They're in the playoffs, with a potential trip to Wembley on the cards. What do the fans do now? Boycott the home semi, but go to the away leg? What happens if they get to the final? Boycott that as well? Resolve will be tested I reckon. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Clubs hardly make jack **** from a wembley trip or so I'm told so if they get there may aswell get behind them.
Totally understand (well from an outside point of view) why fans like Blackpool, Orient and Charlton boycott home games and venture to away games as it's not lining their **** owners pockets but I don't think I'd bring myself to do if God forbid, it ever happened at Oakwell.
Me either. I can understand both sets of fans. The ones that simply want to watch their team regardless of who is in charge, and those that want to change things the way they collectively see fit. I keep seeing posts from ******* on facebook about how the club rips us all off all the time, and how they don't go anymore. Simple answer for them is do what blackpool fans have done and start a protest group, or keep quiet and leave opinion to those that haven't withdrawn their support. I hope they get behind their players, home, away and at Wembley. For three games only, I think they owe it to the players who've performed well in these circumstances, neither they or the supporters should have to deny themselves success because of the situation with the owners. Their principles, to me, don't change by doing this. They have a platform in the media to restate their case about the Oyston's too. Success on the pitch is a rare thing to many players and supporters. Enjoying it doesn't weaken their case or give a concession to the owners, just strengthens the bond between players and supporters, the most important partnership in any club. I feel sorry for what the Blacky fans have had to go through, but surely they should get behind the team in the play offs and support them to possible promotion. Now that we know what it feels like to win these sort of big matches at Wembley, I would put my pride aside and definitely support them if it mean a Wembley play off final.
It's not just pride though it's principle isn't it? I have a couple of Blackpool supporting mates who will not go to any match that gives money to Oyston. I'd feel the same. The will still boycott. Sent from my iPad using Barnsley FC BBS Fans Forum
To be honest Jimmy, I cant truly understand what they have had to go through. But Im just saying its the chance of play off Final at Wembley, surely any fan would love to see and support that!
One of the lads we know hadn't missed a game hone or away for 23 years. He was the archetypal loyalist then his mate got sued by Oyston and mates stick together. He still hasn't missed an away league game since the 90s but will stick to his guns. I'm a stubborn ****. It would be hard for me not to go but a. Moral stand only means summit if it costs you summat I guess. Sent from my iPad using Barnsley FC BBS Fan Forum mobile app
