What a match from start to finish!

Commiserations to NZ, must be like loosing the football World Cup final on a shootout...

I’m not a massive fan of cricket or should I say I wasn’t until around 50 minutes ago.

But I’m wet through, I’ve not celebrated like that since Portsmouth and Sunderland dropped points on that Tuesday night. :D

That was unbelievable and Ben Stokes has just done the game of Cricket in this country a massive favour. I will definitely follow England’s future abit more closely now and it’s all down to that man. Dug deep for the three lions.

Can’t think of a current England footballer who has half the sp..k of Ben Stokes.

Just thinking that if Sky hadn't allowed it free to air how many kids would be left uninspired. That might have given the game a shot in the arm.

Ah, you have the same problem as me.
A little wee now and then is acceptable.

Have to say that I subscribed to Sky in the early 90’s specifically to see England play in the Ashes and had it ever since. I understand that it isn’t within everyone’s remit but their coverage has been never short of exceptional as far as cricket is concerned. I think I’m right in saying that terrestrial tv never guaranteed every ball coverage home and abroad like Sky have done.

I think it was the the ICC who gave it to channel 4 not Sky.

Sky allowed channel 4 to show the final given its importance to fans of cricket.

I think it would've been a PR disaster had they not. Backlash against Sky would've been worse than any revenue lost by making it FTA. Fair play to them though.

From heraldry, the three lions, represent England, Brittany and Acquitaine. Only one of the lions is actually English :)

And to cap it all for those of you that didn't know. Ben Stokes was born in New Zealand and spent the first 12 years of his life there before coming to live in the UK.

It must be like losing the world cup because the other side had more throw-ins.

It seemed a strange way to decide it to me. I’d have thought taking more wickets should have counted more than boundaries if they needed a decider. Still they were the rules and all knew them beforehand

They've also pumped serious money into the sport to help it develop.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but we are the first and only country to win a World Cup in Football cricket and rugby
