Certainly not a chief executive , his job would be to oversee the administration , contracts etc not the identification /recruitment side of things
So the CEO of BFC isn’t responsible for the overall recruitment process? Things must have changed a lot since Mansford was here if you’re even remotely correct.
No , the owners are responsible, a chief exec is a senior administration post , we ran for months without one , which included sales of players & recruitment , a lot of which fell on Hecky"s shoulders. Obviously , he is heavily involved in contractual issues with recruitment but the day to day running of the club is his main responsibility , he certainly does not carry out scouting & deciding which players to target
What it shows was , that players were bought & sold when we did not have a CEO , therefore a CEO does not recruit the players , surly its not that difficult to grasp
Dear lord. The CEO is presented with a list of targets, it’s their job then to get the required number of targets over the line to ensure the squad is complete. Gauthier did not manage this and thus his ability needs to be questioned.
At last you are getting it, he sorts out the admin, he does not draw up the list & I repeat, we sold & signed players without a CEO, so how can you lay the blame for poor transfer dealings at his door . Dear Lord
How do you know that GG didn’t manage it? GG could well have got every feasible deal over the line. The fact is that we’ll never know as we aren’t privy to that information. If you’re referring to McBurnie then he’s an untested player that you lambasted in your earlier post.
The spread sheet sorts the list. It’s his job to carry out the task of ensuring the squad is complete. He did not manage this do you understand? When we didn’t have a CEO the responsibility was passed elsewhere but now we do have one its his responsibility. This is how any organisation works, you don’t seem to be able to grasp anything basic so I’ll leave you to it.
I stated we should not have relied on Mcburnie so thats a weird take. We should have been able to get 4 senior strikers into the club. If the spread sheet cannot find more than 2 feasible strikers it may need a few more formulas adding.
I am not overlooking anything, I am just trying to make the point out that it is wrong to blame the CEO for every transfer failure , do you not agree ?
Then just discard that paragraph from my post. You’re assuming that GG is sat alongside JC and the rest of the recruitment team refreshing the spreadsheet as opposed to GG getting deals across the line. Again, nobody knows the intricacies of the recrtuitnent process. If GG is given a list of targets and gets them over the line if/when possible then I don’t see how that’s a negative. I’m yet to see a deal that had been reportedly scuppered by inaction on the part of GG. Again, I’m not saying GG is immune from criticism but he’s a cog in the machine, that’s all.
So where does the responsibility lay then for the squad being left short leaving Hecky with a lack of options? I’m fairly confident such a mess is down to the CEO but if you think it’s someone else do tell.
You said he was out of his depth, you blame him for us only having three strikers & basically blame him for our transfer failings but you do not have any proof that it is his fault , I think I have basically grasped what point you were making , however, it does not mean that I have to agree with you , hope you have grasped that , so I will leave it with you
If that were the case, which I doubt, then it raises bigger questions about how BFC was previously run. Our finances have long baffled me.
