Shameful, bewildering, downright negligent. I still can't get my head around it. Unless of course, staying in the division was not of primary concern.

If he’d actually applied for the job maybe he’d have got it.

Colin was still employed by Boro when Schopp was sacked. Admittedly only for a further week.

He wouldn’t have developed the players enough to sell on like Poya has……

I very much doubt he would have worked with the ownership group once he knew the constraints.

He may have come but I think he would have left shortly after arriving.

He’d have done until the end of the season if he was allowed to pick his own team and tactics. So like you say, he would never have worked under our constraints.

Did he apply for the job before this numbskull? I haven't read anywhere that he did.

No but it was a fact that when Poya was struggling early in his tenure, the club interviewed 3 possible replacement head coaches
The hierarchy at the club were made aware of Neil Warnocks interest in taking the job till the end of the season

We got no new manager bounce, but got that bounce with the introduction of Quinna and Bassi until Poya got them on the leash.

Who made them aware?... genuine question.

It was a chance for Khaled to show how much autonomy he has in the role, but he didn’t seem to appreciate how bad a place we were in.

Instead of approaching someone with a proven track record, we assumed all the best coaches would apply for the job and go through some convoluted process.

I would hope he'd just have ignored them I get the impression that Val had his own way on things.

I would have loved Warnock but we cannot turn the clock back , lets hope big lessons have been learnt & the next appointment is carefully thought through , we have to look forward & we need someone at the helm who is capable of getting us back to the championship which in my book will require experience & Warnock would still be a great shout to achieve that goal .

Wouldn't have been able to make money on him so doesn't fit in their business model. Not sure who would pay us for Poya though....

Remember we weren't considering relegation back then though - so we probably never even entertained the thought of Warnock.

Wouldn’t have mattered, he was obvious looking at retirement so would have been available for a short term rescue job, then we could have retained our Championship status and had the time to plan for next season.
Of course that would have entailed some kind of football thinking, something our owners are seem totally clueless about!

To be fair SB any management structure worth its salt shouldn't have needed to be made aware of Warnock, his capabilities and his likely availability. They should have known.
There's no guarantees in football but if you'd asked anyone in the game either on the terraces, in boardrooms or changing rooms who would be a great bet to save us Warnock's would have been one of the first names mentioned.
Failure to either glean that knowledge or act on it was unforgivable.

That's why I asked the question, the OP suggested there had been some interaction and I wondered what it actually was.
