I can't understand why a flag of support to our owner couldn't be put in the north stand in his own part owned ground. It wasn't provocative or anything. It's wasted stuck out of sight.
Aaaarrrggggghhhh! I've answered that earlier! It is wasted out of sight, as you say, which is why we want to put it in the West Stand in future. Whether you agree with it or not, we'd arranged to put the flag in the East Stand to get TV coverage. Because of the bloke who wouldn't move, we asked if it could go in the north stand. This was at about 7:50 when the match had been underway for 5 minutes. After quick radio conversation security said no. That's it. Obviously the owner wasn't involved in that decision and I suspect he had other things on his mind at the time.
Showed a picture of him on the screen at half time. Some clapping broke out a couple of times but I don't think many knew what it was about so it petered out. I didn't hear the announcer mention it either. Total ****-up for one of the true legends of the club.
At half time the announcement was made re futch . Applause then followed. Sent from my MI MAX using Tapatalk
Why would the corner of the North Stand be preferable to the corner of the East Stand? (which is where it would have had to go) Surely they would have roughly the same amount of tv time/ out of sight time?
Looks sound that. Yeah I got to my seat just before kick off, so I obviously just missed it. East upper so that's why I couldn't see it in East stand either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There was an announcement made and a minutes applause. I know that because I was stood on the pitch with Jason as he announced it and there was plenty of applause. Even our subs warming up on the pitch joined in.
It's a shame it was announced then when thousands are out of their seat for one reason or another. Would have been better as the mascot picture was being taken just before kick off. Because in the north stand at the east stand side every single home fan no matter where they were sat would be able to see it during the match perfectly. Stuck at pitch level in either corner you end up with thousands of fans at the opposite end of the same stand unable to see it.
That must have been at half time when Futcher's picture was on the screen, I didn't hear anything. My apologies.
I can't say too much but let's just say Sky and referees have too much say on stuff. Well done on the flag. Did you get the flag man pass I wrote for you?
Can we name n shame the knob who refused to move then, so we can run him outta town or he can attempt to justify his existence? Cant believe the tolerance on here some times.
I do realise that it's difficult to find a position to please everybody - maybe we could put it in different positions for different matches? I'll ask the club about the North Stand again, but obviously for matches like Leeds, Newcastle, Fowls etc that would not be possible.
Yes, loved it mate. First time I've been the other side of the wall since the Bradford game in 1997.....
Latest update: At forthcoming home matches the flag will be spread across the goal frame behind Adam Davies.
