Over the years the Reds have tried various tactics to gain success. We have had, hard-men defenders, skilled mid-fielders, lightening fast attackers, high press.. But consistently we have relied on our secret weapon - being underestimated. We have delighted when other clubs refer to "Teams like Barnsley" as a synonym/ polite way of saying we are crap. We smile a rye smile when commentators, mention all the others teams, but skip over us... Because being underestimated as allowed us to surprise other teams, that have taken us for granted. Well this season the club have taken this tactic to a whole new level. Not only do the rest of the league think we are rubbish, so do all our supporters. Imagine, how well the surprise is going to work when even we think we will be a walk over in the playoffs. Never before has any club so brilliantly faked an anti-climax to a season. And just in case you were wondering - no of course I don't believe a word of this nonsense. But I can dream.
I can also remember Huddersfield getting promoted to the premier league without scoring a goal from open play in the play offs. Got to be in it to win it.
People forget AR Wednesday got hammered first playoff game then pulled it back 2nd game then we all know what happened in the final so we shall see.
