From here on in I believe that attitude and a "win at all costs" approach can see us through. I`m hoping that Kane, Cole, Connell and Williams are the key men to drag the rest along with them to dominate games from here on for the last 8 games. Just hope they`ve all got some fire in their bellies like the fans have.
Yeah but arguably the same applied being 2 up at home to Bolton and look how we’ve capitulated since, we only just scraped over the line at Carlisle.
This is my fear. I’m not convinced he’s brave enough to get us promoted and I really hope we don’t die wondering.
Nothing to lose now. Play offs are more or less a given so we need to just go for it in the last 8 games and see where it takes us.
Nothing to do with Collins. These players can't win the must win games. It's about bottle. When we're five points adrift of second and it's out of our hands we'll win. Less pressure. When we're two points off second with the chance of going second we'll lose or draw. It was the same under Duff last season. I know we weren't as close to the automatics but we seemed to fluff our lines when it mattered most.
I believe they have enough bottle to do it, I think mentally and physically they were towing after the Bolton match, I'm hoping this week break has benefitted us.
I would be amazed if Kane, Cole and Williams were not all back in the starting line up Friday. Let the shackles off and attack, attack, attack.
We missed Kane against Cheltenham and lost all impetus once Cosgrove came off. I think I'd have found a way of playing Cole and Cosgrove with Mcatee and Philips still on the field. Maybe gone two at the back.
I was slightly surprised that he didn`t withdraw one of the three at the back in the latter stages of the last home game. I don`t think it would have presented us with much of a risk.
Yeah Cheltenham offered nothing themselves going forward. (Earl overplayed and lost the ball a couple of times resulting in his booking. That was the only hairy moment.)
The problem is that the players we need to have the bottle to drive us to promotion are most likely leaving us.
Really can't see the players who are out of contract this summer running through brick walls between now and the middle of May..Those leaving will have had one eye on their own future for a while. For me we'll just see more of the same of the last six months.. win a few, draw a few and lose one or two. I think we're looking at around the 82 point mark to finish the season.. where will that put us? Totally depends how well the others do..
Play off's is a massive achievement from the disassembling of last years team through the changes to the Board and the low quality of some of our early signings. I appreciate that this league is poor this year but we've still got to win games and get into the top six, which we've pretty much guaranteed.. so come on lads and lasses lets be grateful we're not Carlisle or Fleetwood cos some clubs would have gone to bits in our situation..but not us at BFC
