    Of course you would.

By the way Patrick cryne 'heavily suggested' the signing of Adam hammill to Lee Johnson who took a little convincing

I like Payne, but I don't think he'll be very successful at this level. But I've been wrong countless times before and I will be countless times again. If he tries hard, which he always has so far, he'll always get my support.

Rubbish.... PC has a history of not spending until he absolutely has to.... Its foolish to pretend otherwise

But its his money and he his owner/custodian, so he can do what he see's fit.

My only decision is to back it with my money or not..

I'll take his word for it unless he lied to me directly

Wouldn't say all of a sudden. We've been doing it for quite some time, and it got us promoted season before last.

Besides that, what other option do we have? We simply can't afford the wages that established and proven championship players command.

I agree with all that, but whether or not the plan is viable, I don't see us having another option until a sugar daddy appears on the scene.

Apologies jimmy for the belated response. Normally i wouldnt bother 2 days later but on this occasion i wanted to try and make the point i was getting at a little better than i originally had, regarding my response to this comment. I know you weren't the one who made the original comment BTW

To be fair i had slightly misread the comment, thinking the question was could the spreadsheet be classed as a success or failure(success IMO) and not what it actually meant.
So to answer the actual question. If we are talking about every single player as individuals then clearly it has been a mixed bag. But while there has been some failures, the "spreadsheet" did manage to put together a team that not only got promoted but easily survived in the championship despite being derailed at the end of january. So it is my personal opinion that the 'rate' is stacked more to the success side than failure, in relation to the players signed wether they were permanent or loans (surely identified the same way?)
As for the adam hammil comment you made i totally agree with regards to the massive part he played in our success and the way in which he arrived at the club being more than just a name on a spreadsheet. I was at that JPT game against york and fully believe if adam hadn't played we would have lost and things might be so much different now. But while adam was the catalyst it wasnt a 1 man show, despite them 2 wonder goals, and players like brownhill, isgrove and fletcher, players who were probably identified by the spreadsheet but possibly in a 'cant afford just yet but you never know' subsection, were just as pivotal.
If you do read this the i apologise for losing you time that you will never get back, but at least i can now sleep easier :)

Winnall wasn't identified by the current system.

    Wilson identified him.

Thats definitely correct. Wilson was scouting him whilst at Sheff Utd.

All valid points and I don't disagree with any of them to be fair. We can both sleep easy now! Though Its so stuffy I may never sleep again.
