It's a common thing in all events, not just football and not just sport. 'Attendance' is number of tickets sold, not people there.

 

Two ST’s here. Didn’t go, didn’t go sat either. And several other games since September. Won’t be renewing so won’t be counted next season. Sad state of affairs at the club but self inflicted and history repeating itself again.

Not saying it's right, it definitely isn't, but it's very common.

 

Yeah it's common but I'm surprised it's legal as in my opinion it's deliberate false advertising to sponsors and advertisers who are in the crowd.
