Not exactly a long term plan though is it - especially in a game that doesn't matter much?

Mellon supported the decision to sign mike pollitt. He would never have cleared out the Rochdale mafia. Funny though to pine for tthose glory days
Dont expect things to get better until after Christmas. A mid table finish will be aa massiveachievement. we have as well as the ***** players had to get rid of the good ones too replaced them with potential. Itll be a long season of whinging if you expect success This sseason.

Anyone who watched the home game against Yeovil & still thinks Mellon deserved the job needs to visit a mental asylum

The long term plan is to bring on Hemmings who is over 6 foot. Hemmings is injured and we can no longer afford to pack the squad with 30 odd players like we did last season. So, we bring on M'Voto for some height. Mchale picks out M'voto with a good cross in to the box, great cushioned header by M'Voto to Winnall, but unfortunately Winnall puts it over. The tactic worked a treat, it should have resulted in a goal, but Winnall hasn't got his shooting boots on yet. He could and maybe should have had a hattrick last night.

Winnall isn't missing the chances because of the step up from league 2. If that was the problem he wouldn't be finding the space and he wouldn't be getting the chances. But he lost his markers a number of times last night, he made the right runs and he received the ball in acres of space, it's just his finishing that's letting him down. He scored 23 goals last season so we know he can finish, it's just not happening yet, but it'll come. If he was in the back pocket of the centre half the entire game and not getting any chances I'd be worried, but he wasn't, the Crewe defence couldn't keep track of him, he just couldn't find the finish.
