Is there any chance people on this forum can get there views heard without this awful vitriol and name calling?
Windup ?!?!? Would you or anyone else want to bet me £1000 and then come to the polling booth with me.
Lost in translation mate. Apologies for that. I didn’t/don’t have a clue who you vote for. There was absolutely no intention of it being the way you read it. My point was meant to be aimed at anyone voting brexit is a vote for the tories in this election. The use of the word you was not aimed at you if you get my meaning. Take that word out ( which I will edit out , hopefully that will represent my. Intentions) My main point overall was about the election not telling us anything cos labour will get in. I think we’ll learn a lot on the outcome. I didn’t read anything offensive or otherwise in your initial post. Was just replying as how I see it and the effect of the brexit vote.
It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. You vote for a local candidate who can change their allegiance the day after the election. the fact you ‘believe’ you’re voting for a party or leader just means you don’t understand the way our democracy works.
There is no book written telling the mass's how they should vote and what to consider, voting is a personal thing and people vote for many different reasons, whether it's the party, the leader a tactical vote or whatever
We have a very out dated electoral system which is not fit for purpose in this day and age. After the GE we will be left with the same problems. But there will be no appetite for change from the major parties. Total shambles.
I think an awful lot of people vote for the party first if I'm honest. A manifesto would largely be pointless otherwise. I've always voted for the party whose ideology and manifesto in my opinion best serves the public. I have never known anyone I have voted for defect and think it is wrong that they should be allowed to do so for any length of time. It should trigger a by-election. I didn't particularly like Ed Milliband at the time but I still voted Labour and would never vote for a party on the strength/personality of its leader. On a website that shows which party is best suited to your values I scored 92% for both Greens and Labour, which is pretty much the same as each time I've done it in the past also.
Tbf Ian there was a referendum on the subject just after Cameron and Clegg took office . I would imagine it was at the behest of the Lib Dem’s . The status quo was voted for by the electorate probably because of the Toxicity of the Lib Dem’s who were t popular by this time . It was a great shame as i share your opinion that it would have shaken up our politics from the charade we had e now ,
To anyone that just wants to vote for someone that gets Brexit done and can't decide between the Conservatives and Brexit party, put a cross for both on voting day just to make sure one gets in
I appreciate that people ‘believe’ they’re voting for a party, it just happens to be factually incorrect.
