Unlike most, well there’s a statement, I know my dad votes Labour, don’t know about his dad as he was killed fighting for his country in WW2, I doubt my Dad knew how his dad voted coz he was only 9. I vote the way I do because of things such as life experiences, how the country and my community are affected. I do know that my Dad’s dad was a miner before going to war, my dad was a miner, I was a miner. Think you’ll have Gathered by now I’m no Tory never have been, never will be. I have never voted the same way as my dad simply because he’s my dad, I’ve voted that way because I’ve seen and witnessed and been affected by many of the same things. The main thing we’ve witnessed and experienced are Callous and Vindictive Tory Policies against us and the Communities we live in. The Enemy within indeed.

If you seriously think brexit will be done in the next 5 years, you have a lot of disappointment to look forward to, 10 years would be pushing it.

Its 2019 ... not 1919  ... within 5 years of Brexit I doubt very much that there will be a United Kingdom, never mind a GREAT Britain.

I like Ed, but he hasn't been altogether truthful in his leaflet...he states that he has voted nine times for a deal to leave the EU, but in actual fact he's voted against all the agreed deals offered to parliament.

This is where the Aussies have a better system with their preferences. You could vote Green in the knowledge that their vote will go to Labor (or whoever you choose; you do not have to go with the default party preferences) if they do not get in. This gives a better picture of where the parties lie and gives more credibility to the smaller parties. They might not get in but it is visible that there are a lot of people voting for their policies so the bigger parties better take note of those policies if they wish to attract those votors.

    So have many Tory Brexiteers.

it’s not the oppositions job to ensure the government make deals they disagree with.

Ed’s leaflet may be disingenuous but falls short of dishonest IMHO.

    Vintage Nudger this.

Comes in, drops a bomb, then disappears into thin air.

He'll pop up on another thread with a similar outlandish, look-at-me comment, then do the same thing.

Of course he will, he gets a bite, people fall for it and he then puts his fishing rod away.

That sounds like the Single Transferable Vote system (or Instant Runoff). Which was the alternative proposed by the LibDems in the 2011 referendum. Unfortunately Labour and the Tories successfully campaigned against it since it would not have benefited either of them.

I voted - took my daughter for her first ‘vote’, it was a tricky explanation as I recall.

Why does he moan when people don’t take him seriously I wonder. I believe he conveniently becomes a WUM when his serious posts are ridiculed as they often are

And for those who blame the Labour council for problems around the area just a map to show where has been most affected by cuts to local government funding from central government since 2010
