This Kone thing reminds me of the Kevin Phillips "Plan A" fiasco a few years ago.

It was admitted by the club that when it fell through, or never happened, or was never going to happen, that there was no Plan B and we started the season with the tea lady and the club cat up front.
For goodness sake do not let Moore go lightly unless there's a good replacement ready to come in. Woodrow is admirable but not on his own all the time.
For some strange reason we seem to find ourselves in this situation too often.

This is exactly what I said in another thread yesterday. It would appear we've put all our resources into getting this Kone fella and he doesn't want to come. I'm sure the club would have told us if it was Moore playing silly buggers, handing in a transfer a request etc but the fact they haven't tells me that it's the club who want him moved on. If we fail to land other potential targets then how is Moore suppose to come back into the squad knowing the head coach, owners etc don't want him. It's a baffling situation at present. Let's hope we do have a plan B this time round.

Thing is even if kone came in we still need at least one more championship ready striker! I dont think victor or miller are the answer even as back up.

There’s been so much childish behaviour surrounding Kone.
    Its been unbelievable to witness.
I do NOT give a flying fook if we sign Kone or we don’t.

Childish behaviour by whom? His club? Our club? Agents? Journalists?

    People on here.
You would think Kone is the last striker in the world.

Ah, right, Best to take anything as pure speculation until it happens. Personally, hope Kieffer stays and it’s all a load of ballax,

I would say a good 80% of our signings over the past 18 months have been totally under the radar and not predicted by anyone. I think out of the 8 new signings this summer only Wilkes as far as I can remember was heavily linked to us and even he was being announced as likely to go to Hull. So the fact we haven’t been linked with loads of strikers doesn’t worry me whatsoever. Wouldn’t surprise me an announcement came totally out of the blue with someone who’s not been mentioned at all. That’s the way most of our business has been done

Even if we sign Kone I wouldn't sell Moore as they are totally different types of strikers and would leave us too lightweight up front.

I think we bought Hume that summer. Not a bad signing. Couldve done with Kevin Phillips though, would've sorted Morgan out.
