3 points behind Norwich with a game in hand. Contrasting fortunes for both teams indeed.

Yeah, Norwich weren't great that season. We should probably have won at their place. Played quite well.

Yes we were, but which kind of relegation would you prefer on a match to match basis?

One with some wins, or without?

I forget that up to around now, we weren't that terrible in the first few months of 17/18. 0 goal difference as well ffs.

With excellent players, under achieving in the league below.

    Not really a good comparison.

Yep, ended up with 41 and were still involved on the final day at Derby.

Brings home the size of the task facing us this time around!

In hindsight, yes. But at the time many, most even, thought they were crap. In fact, I think the consensus now about the current squad's talent is perhaps more positive than it was about the one four years ago.

Don't for one second think I'm suggesting we'll go on to win promotion from here mind! :)

I think Johnsons approach was as much to do with it as anything. Laughed at the fans for wanting 442 and said Hourihane couldn't play in a 2 man central midfield.

Didn't Patrick eventually have a word in his ear?

We signed Hammill on a free, and he bent one in the top corner against York in the John Stones Trophy.

That was after Michael Coulson scored a beauty.

    Them were the days.
