Thomas Mair found guilty of the murder of Jo Cox

Since 2010 hate has switched from the bankers to immigrants and benefit 'scroungers'. Press have done an incredible job - neither group is to blame for the economic state of the country or world in general.

As regards for this case I wonder if Britain First come out and condemn this - I won't hold my breath.

I think that it is vital we always have a trial but I fail to see how the trial can last more than a day in this kind of situation.

Prosecution: Did you do it?
Defence: Yes
Prosecutiono you witness this man murder Jo Cox?
Witness one: yes
Witness two: yes
Jury: Guilty


Surely there is absolutely no need to drag it out for weeks and months costing vast sums when guilt is never in doubt

 

I agree it should be quick but I thought I'd heard on the radio that he didn't pleaf guilty, which would make the trial last longer.

 

Of course there is, it's a money printing exercise.

 

He refused to enter a plea which in my opinion is the same as admitting guilt. In fact the law should be changed to make it impossible to refuse to enter a plea.

I'm no expert but I believe the question is phrased something along the lines of this 'on the charge of blah blah blah he do you plea?' and then obviously you can refuse to answer.
Why not change it to something like 'on the charge of blah blah blah do you accept guilt? A refusal to answer will be taken as an admission of guilt'

All this refusing to speak in court and so dragging the trials out and costing a fortune is basically ********. A defendants job in court is to defend themselves or admit guilt. If you aren't willing to defend yourself then logically that MUST be taken as an admission of guilt but for some reason it isnt

F***ing hell fire. Many people disagree with the politics of Jo Cox but they do not seek to kill her, they debate and make changes through the ballot box. I disagree with you completely that many people are thinking the same way as Mair and even less who would do what he did.

I and many millions more have issues with immigration and the EU, with islamist terrorism and many other things but I would go to great extremes to distance myself completely from scum like Mair and anybody who sympathise with him or his warped ideology. He's equally as abhorrent as the Islamic extremists you have mentioned.

I was actually disagreeing with you that many people think like Mair and that loads would do the same if they could get away with it because they don't and they wouldn't. Did I misunderstand your post?
